Old School Apartment 2 Ground Floor

The location of the Apartment is great,very central to the centre of Bury St Edmunds and near the Cathedral. Nice sized apartment and a lovely courtyard. Comfy bed and well equipped. I would recommend it and stay again.

The woodwork on the building,window/door frames need some TLC they are cracked and need replacing/maintenance. The freezer seal that I didn't use is coming away. Road noise,it's on a busy main road and you can hear it in the apartment.

The location was good and an easy walk into town. Overall, we found the property very comfortable and sufficiently equipped for self catering.

We had a little difficulty finding the property initially - suggest clearer/larger signage.

The dining chairs were quite small and very uncomfortable. Could have done with some bowls suitable to use in the microwave, otherwise fairly well equipped. Minimal crockery & cutlery, which wasn't a problem for us, but if staying for more than a couple of days would be useful to have more, especially mugs. Unfortunately, on the 2nd morning, the shower became blocked. I took the 2nd shower and the water almost overflowed the shower tray. We found a plunger and used that to try and get it moving, without any luck. It just brought up a load of muck!!! After trying to clear it for around 15 minutes, I called the number for housekeeping / maintenance and spoke to a lady. I explained the situation to which she said she would 'try' and get hold of the maintenance guy, to come and sort it. I explained that one of us was still waiting to have a shower, but couldn't because it would overflow and it was disgusting, with black muck. She said she would call him!! We waited, and waited......no one came!! after about half an hour, the water had actually started to run away, so my sister rinsed some of the muck away with a jug of water... just so she was able to stand in a *cleanish* shower tray and have her shower. Still, no one came before we left at 10 20 and I didn't even get a follow up call 😒 very disappointed!!!!!!!

Lovely location. Clean and had everything required. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The location was excellent, short walk to pubs and restaurants and adjacent to the Abbey gardens
