The Bolthole @ Bowness - Cosy 1 Bed Apartment

Lovely modern ground floor apartment, we loved the decor, great having some kitchen appliances and the free parking outside the apartment was an unexpected bonus! We also loved the extra touch having some chocolates on arrival. Easy to locate the key box. Clean and very close the the lake and centre.

We wished there was hand wash, body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided, as we had to go and buy these on arrival when we wanted to relax. The heating system had been turned off so we had no hot water, messaged on the booking app (hadn’t heard back within an hour and half), in the meantime found the switch to turn it back on so that was fine. We think it would also benefit from a bath mat, towels were provided 2 per guest so used one of the smaller head towels. Drain in shower might need unblocking as the tray filled very quickly. Also the toilet system is very loud when flushing, inconvenient if used during night. Noticed a few other reviews about this and replies to say you didn’t let us know, probably better to fix before the stays :) the neighbours were quite loud too during the night but this is no fault of the property owner.

The interior design was so beautiful, especially in the the living room. The location was perfect and positioned you right near the town centre with just a 2 minute walk. The bed was very comfortable and there was lots of room to store our belongings.

Wasn’t cleaned too well when we arrived -spiders were everywhere in the apartment and we had to clean them ourselves. Noise was a real issue. There wasnt much sound protection within the apartment and could hear the neighbours talking and each step they took upstairs. We woke up one morning due to them walking above us. The doors wouldn’t shut properly in the bedroom unless with excessive force. Almost like the door was too big for the frame. Had quite an old smell to the place, which I understand was probably due to it being an old building and furniture but it was quite strong. The main sofa in the living room is in two parts, so when we tried to cuddle on the sofa it actually pushed both sides away and was very uncomfortable. The arm chair was comfy.

Excellent location, a walk from the lake, a quiet spot, and clean, and it had all the facilities needed to make a nice meal. There were stores nearby at walking distance. The owner was responsive. We had an issue with hot water in the shower that was immediately fixed once we complained.

Cosy clean and comfortable apartment. Very well equipped. Really comfortable bed.Lovely touches such as tea,coffee, milk, and biscuits provided. Added bonus having parking facilities. Great location only 5 mins walk to centre. Will definitely recommend it.

It was close to the town centre. Bed was very comfy and so we're the chairs.

The noise from the toilet and fan in the bathroom. Shower was very slow at draining. Had to switch it off whilst washing or it would overflow.

Property was in a very good location, bars and restaurants were close by.

Would have benefited if a small freezer was in the fridge. Could hear movement in the upstairs apartment.

Location is very near to the Windermere Lake

Radiators in the flat are not working.
