Beautiful beach, nice and well-equipped apartman and breathtaking ocean view from the terrace and also at the own private beach.

Location was great

Place was not clean, had ants everywhere, it was a challenge to have a meal there. Beds were really uncomfortable, as there is no box spring, just a thin mattress on a wood base. Furnishings were a little dated and damaged, pics are from years ago, current condition is less charming today. Some lights didn't work.

The location is great being just 15 mins drive from the city Santa Cruz and just next to a great beach that is almost empty most of the time. We enjoyed that but for those not ready to drive each time you want to get something including grocery, there is no public transport at all from apartment to nearest supermarket for instance, not even Uber and beach is black sand beach in case (we didn’t mind). And the drive includes a winding road around the mountains which could be scary for some especially at night. View from apartment is beautiful although the seating on the balcony is facing the wrong way. Property is old but clean and peaceful.

During the stay, we had an accident on the bed, we reported it immediately to the agency and we were prepared to pay for that. So we received a message today with the bill for that. What surprised us was they decided to withhold the entire damage deposit of EUR 350 to pay for the bedsheets (about EUR 125 ok fair) and the remaining EUR 225 to relacquer the dining table because of a pen mark. We were shocked because we have not experienced this with all our rented stays including those in the Canary islands and also because we genuinely did not even think the pen mark would warrant a relacquering. The worst experience was when we called to query this, the agency only wanted to argue they were right. When I asked, what if we made a small pen mark on the wall, would you repaint the wall and charge us. The agency said "Yes". Finally, I just said ok we agree to disagree knowing that the only thing I could practically do was leave a review to warn future renters. But later that evening, I received another message from the agency insisting to clarify and ensure everything is fair by reminding us that we signed terms and conditions that stated we are liable to any damage. If you check all reviews, you will find another review left by a lady on 15 June 2022 where she mentioned the host tried to charge her on the damage deposit for a make up stain on a towel. Hence, our takeaway is be careful of leaving ANY marks however small, however faint if you don't want an unpleasant surprise for example don't drink coffee near any stainable furniture or you will be liable for a renovation. Other downsides include: Too expensive for quality and age of apartment (old furniture and fittings, fridge doesn't close properly, small shower head, rainfall shower doesnt work, no phone reception, old blinds difficult to raise and put down and lets light through - light wakes you every morning.
