It was the cheapest I could find for a private room in touristy Puerto Plata although slightly off-town. Apartment seemed to be only occupied by me. Kitchen is available for use. So is the washing machine, although the receptionist told me there is a dry function when there actually isn't. Shower was hot for the first two nights. Very near to bus station. Aircon in room was great.

No hot shower on the last night. Lots of young disturbing boys staring and making lots of friendly comments surrounding the entire apartment which may be intimidating or uncomfortable for solo females. Noises of chickens cooing the whole time even at 3am. It is very strange why chickens are even allowed near the vicinity when the apartment is rented out. Wifi connection is non-existent. On a Sunday when most of the shops were closed and the shop in front of the apartment ran out of water bottles for sale, plus there was no water cooler in apartment, I entered the host residence to ask for some water from their drinking water container. The stingy old woman said no. I drank tap water that night and upsetted my stomach. It doesn't matter whether or not the apartment has water cooler which she told me to check nonetheless, and it doesn't. I have never met such a petty and ungracious host family.

Where I was for located the roosters maybe 10 or so roosters were crow all day all night The next door neighbors were up early in the morning very rude because they lived there and they make all the noise they want it just was not a very good dealings because when I got there they did not accept credit card I did not have cash on me I had to go to a ATM and take enough cash out to pay for the apartment after that there was no TV or internet in the apartment I had to wait two days for them to put me in a different room where they had TV and internet it was just uncomfortable for a while also there was no microwave there was no toaster oven it was just a little uncomfortable

The location was perfect.

Overall everything was great!
