+ Everything I needed for a stay on their property outside of central oamaru (10min drive) + Very quiet and comfortable lots of amenities in the cabin (cooking facilities, breakfast jams/condiments/bread/juice + Always nice to see a place offer fresh milk, and a generous 1L bottle (really sets the tone of how likely its put more thought and attention to detail, which this place does!) + Multiple heaters, electric blanket + Fun bathroom (double door, so rare!!! As not to disturb the guests in bed with the light directly shining so you can enter on both (corners). I think from reading reviews this also helps if you are renting the other cabin with no toilet just a stones throw away. The bathroom had all the necessities including shampoo, conditioner, aftershave, and a super warm TIMED fan heater!!! + Hairdryer, cable tv (limited channels), iron, broad games and books. Had everything I needed + Really responsive host, easy to communicate with on the platform , happy to make recommendations and gave thoughtful instructions and information beforehand + Animals on the property (including some cows and alpacas) be careful of electric fence not all were that obvious if you're not familiar with them

Thinking hard to find something picky.... i guess the proximity to the main building. I didnt know theres a possibility the cabin is attached to the main building and if i had known this i might have been even more mindful of noise depending whats on the other side of the bedroom wall. But didn't hear anyone ok the other side thankfully.

This was a lovely place to stay, just outside of the town centre with lovely country surroundings. Jenny was very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed strolling around the grounds and seeing the highland cows. The unit itself was very comfortable and spacious. In the morning we also met the very friendly cat which was a surprise bonus! Wish we could have stayed more than one night!

Highlands on Homestead was a beautiful location with a gorgeous garden and outlook into the fields with sheep, alpacas and highland cattle. Our accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable and our host Jenny was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The property was only a short drive to the outskirts of Oamaru township.

Peace and serenity. Loved the farm stay and animals. Super comfortable and cosy stay with a light breakfast provided. Short drive to town and main tourist attractions including Blue-eyed Penguin Colony and Steampunk Museum and Oamaru Public Gardens. Great cafes and an excellent bakery in the Victorian Precinct.
