Wolverfontein Karoo Cottages

A rare chance to bask in the changing light of the karoo, the birds, the bossies and the baboon chorus in the distance. Spacious, comfortable, quirky, handsome and welcoming. We loved it.

Lighting in the bedroom is a bit difficult.

Que dire de ce lieu ? Si ce n’est un lieu absolument exceptionnel. Rares sont les lieux de cette qualité à la fois complètement ouvert sur la nature dans le silence avec un goût de décoration authentique. Il s’agit d’une expérience unique. Nous sommes de grands voyageurs et avons eu la chance de visiter des lieux très privilégié de le monde. Celui-ci en fait indubitablement partie. Ashley et André ont fait ici un travail absolument remarquable, de rénovation et d’implantation à la fois responsable et heureuse dans un lieu magique. A recommander absolument.

Having travelled extensively throughout the world, this little Klein Karoo gem has stolen my heart. What a find! It was certainly the winter breakaway I needed, with its roaring fireplace, gas heater and super cosy bedding, I was completely cocooned through the coldest of nights – only to wake up with the best of mother nature right on my doorstep – the bird life as impressive as the night sky. Ashley and Andre are the kindest of hosts, being supremely knowledgeable of the beautiful area they live in. The two cottages are completely private, but it was lovely to know that my hosts were available on WhatsApp if I needed their help in any way. If only I could keep this place all to myself, but I can’t keep a secret this good. You will not be disappointed. I will be back.

The quitenes

This place is an absolute gem. The hospitality of Ashley and Andre is out of this world. The farm is beautifully nested in an area that feels remote, which makes it a wonderful place to truly experience the little Karoo. The cottage is incredibly well-decorated, which gives you the impression of being in an old South African farm from a century ago. It is really a great experience to stay here. My mother was absolutely delighted by our stay here. Thank you Andre and Ashley for this wonderful place.
