Wolverfontein Karoo Cottages

This is truly a hidden gem and we were so lucky not to miss it. When you’re in the cottage and in the grounds it truly feels like you’re in the bush, just with the added bonus that you have all of the cosiness and amenities of a very well curated cottage. The hosts are the most kind people & very helpful when needed and gave great advice about brilliant things we would have missed without their guidance. You will regret not choosing to stay here. In our two month trip around South Africa, this is definitely one of the best places we stayed.

Everything. It was the best deal for our kids. The kids enjoyed the peace and quiteness and even made friends with the 2 dogs.

I would highly recommend this gem in the heart of the Klein Karoo. Absolute stillness and peace, surrounded by fields of flowers and amazing stars at night. We felt very relaxed and welcome. Good for the soul.

Our stay at Wolverfontein Karro Cottages rates as one of the BEST holidays we've had! The cottage was comfortably charming with a touch of electic, vintage style. Lovely warm blankets to ward off the winter chill. We all slept peacefully from the first night. 2 Weeks wasn't long enough! Andre and Ashley were generous hosts and went out of their way to assist us from travel ideas to washing our hire car! The first thing that struck us was the quiet! So quiet in fact that we could hear the beating wings of birds that flew past. And the sunrises and sunsets were beyond stunning. Our final night we were blessed with the most dazzling display of the Milky Way we could ever imagine. If you want peace and rest and home away from home comfort in majestic surroundings then this special place if for you!

Laid-back rustic location. Spectacular views, especially the ever-changing night sky. D'Waenhuis is spacious with interesting furnishings. Loved it. Ashley is a great host. An all-around memorable experience.

Should've stayed another night.

I was lucky enough to discover this hidden gem in the middle of the Klein Karoo. Lovely indoor fireplace for the chilly winter evenings. Quirky and unique design style with real attention to detail. Beautiful private game reserve next door. All of this at an affordable price. I was even able to make a couple of Zoom calls and remain in contact with my office via the satellite internet provided. I'll definitely be back in summer to enjoy the private swimming pool.

Beautiful location, attention to detail at the accommodation. Our little boy loved the sheep and climbing the koppie.

Maybe invest in a few torches or lamps for load shedding instead of just candles (we brought our own, but everyone might not). Also, a lighter for the stove instead of matches and a hook for the dish towel would be nice :)
