Castello di Viano

This is a spectacular castle near Modena with very comfortable;le rooms. The staff were very friendly and kind. The two dinners we had outside in the courtyard were exceptional, all local produce. We had a superb stay.

Beautiful castello, tastefully decorated, lovely views of the hills and surrounding farms. Very peaceful. Bed sheets were high quality and comfortable. We had some lovely walks down to Viano through the countryside and some lovely restaurants within 20 mins of the property. A very nice wine cellar too!

No AC in the rooms and the fans provided barely made a difference in the summer heat. Could have done with a pool but understand that given its Agritourismo status this might not be possible. Breakfast was nice but basic. Wifi could be better, particularly if you need to work and so had to go into the village.
