"Fantastic cosy place to stay in an amazing location."

9.0

Location was fantastic. Remote, but not far from all facilities you need and close to Kielder/ Hadrians wall etc with lots to do and see. Owners really friendly and are close by if you need anything. Logburner was great, especially on cold night and the place was very cosy.

Limited facilities and a small, cosy place. But I knew this before going and there was everything I needed, so no issues.

Location was perfect.Great for stargazing and quiet Well equipped. Owner was friendly.

Wood burner difficult to light and control although difficult with an older model.May have been our inexperience and we were warm enough as cabin was cosy. Small point but felt too many notices stuck up. Apart from safety messages eg log burner and info about limited power for lights these would have been better in the information folder with advise to read. Many of these are not safety critical.

"Cosy hut in a beautiful setting"

7.0

Great location. Amazing views. Loved the wood burning stove. Lovely welcome from Brian and the dogs.

Had to bring own duvet and towels despite the information on the property saying differently. Maybe this happens when you only stay for one night? Hut needs a little tlc and a more thorough clean particularly in the bathroom.

"It’s a fabulous location, lovely owner and a real opportunity to go off grid."

8.0

Beautiful location. A lovely welcome from the owner who popped down on his quad bike to greet us and explain how things worked etc. it does have everything you need if you’re used to camping/ glamping.

The shower wasn’t great as you could only use it for a few minutes due to limited hot water. Fine if you just needed a quick wash though. It wasn’t as clean as we’d have liked. There were hairs on the floor under the bed in the space we put our bags. Some of the plates and pans weren’t washed very well.

"Lovely place to relax away from everything."

9.0

Log burners made the hut really cosy in some very chilly weather! Brian was only up the road and couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. Amazing location for exploring Northumberland.

Only thing could be a sharp knife in the kitchen. Other than that, there was everything you could need.

"Shepherds hut stay"

8.0

It was very warm with the wood burning stove lit, especially with the wind howling outside. Loved the view/location. The host was very welcoming & ready to help with any queries. Would love a return visit in warmer weather

It was my first time in a Shepherds hut & wasn't expecting it to be quite so small. However, was cosy & we managed even with our medium sized dog

Never stayed somewhere as unclean as this place, tried voicing our concerns and owner was rude about it. Dust and cobwebs everywhere, shower was filthy, chipped glassware, pan, plates and bowls had dried food stuck on them.
