Agriturismo La Rosa Montefalco

It was a nice enough facility but the bed was awful. We had booked and paid for two nights. after a sleepless night on a bed that felt like box springs without a mattress , we asked either for a refund for the second night or a different bed, we were told neither was an option. We offered to pay any booking fees or her out of pocket costs but we were told ‘no’. So we left. If you care for a comfortable sleep, I wouldn’t recommend this inn.

The bed

We had both breakfast and dinner at the location. The cooking was very good, especially the dinners. Breakfast was simple cakes, yoghurt, juices, meats and cheese. Daily dinner menu changed and at least 2 choices for each course. Simple bottles of wine. Excellent value. Rooms were clean and large. The proprietor was very pleasant and nice although we didn't speak Italian and she did not speak English! Thank you Google Translate!

There was not a comfortable place to sit in the apartment. There were either kitchen chairs or the bed if you wanted to sit and read. The wifi in our apartment did not work the last day we were there, although it worked for the other 2 apartments traveling with us.

Amazing. We had spent 2 weeks trapsing around the touristy areas in the north and we came here to relax and unwind a bit in the Italian countryside, and it was perfect for that. Fantastic views, comfortable quiet accomodation. Relaxing by the pool in the late afternoon watching the little birds dip in and out. The owners are lovely people who dont speak English, which was part of the charm for us, google translate makes it easy enough to communicate. Had dinner there one night which was delicious traditional Italian food that you can tell the locals would usually eat. A short drive to the town centre of Montefalco which has plenty of great places to eat and drink, and not far from Assisi if your keen for more walking and sightseeing. One of the best places we have stayed in Italy. Highly recommended staying here, and if we are ever back in italy we will definately be back.

Nothing

Paola was very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was ample and the location just outside of Montefalco gave a countryside feel with a close proximity to the city. The views were great!

The air conditioning did not function for our trip and there wasn't a great sense of urgency to address it. When it's 30C > in Umbria this made for unpleasant, uncomfortable sleeping conditions. And our host walked into our room unannounced while we were still in it.

Really lovely agriturismo run by a nice family. Spacious comfortable apartment with a shared terrace and views across the countryside. Lots of outdoor space and the pool to enjoy. Rural setting so nice and quiet. Short drive into Montefalco and easy to other lovely hilltop towns around. Comfortable bed, good shower, nice people - wish we'd stayed a bit longer.

The owners don't live on the property so you have to arrange an arrival time. Also breakfast was a little early (08.30) for us on holiday!
