Sanfern Downs Cottage

The road was quite bad after the rain, I would suggest notifying guests upfront if they need a high clearance vehicle to enter. There was no oven in the unit as described, timing and managing the geyser for warm water was not ideal.

It was lovely to arrive receiving a freshly baked bread. The seating area and bed area (open plan) is like out a story book setting with the lovely tiles and fireplace. Just a pitty there wasn't complimentary wood and fire lighters for the first night

Property is lacking up keep and is not as described Description says: kitchenette with oven, a microwave and toaster - there is none of that. Outside barbecue facilities - run down 2 plastic chairs with a run down braai stand, definitely would not 'barbecue' on it Towels are old and used with one having a hole in the edge - see picture Our entrance door handle was broken. We showed her the handle but no attempt was made to fix it the next day. We did say we will make due but we actually couls not close the door from the inside.

Baie mooi rustige omgewing. Die varsgebakte brood met tuisgemaakte botter en konfyt was ń aangename verassing! Die kaggel was n wenner! Sal beslis weer daar bespreek.

Everything about the place, from the wonderful homemade bread with homemade jam and butter, to the fireplace and the firewood provided. Plus the surrounding nature. It was a wonderful stay and has beautiful nature surrounding it. Along the path there are beautiful flowers too. Just amazing really. The owner is really friendly and welcoming.
