The view was fantastic it really is beautiful

We didn’t have any water from the morning till after 19:00 on New Year’s Day. Added to that we could not get hold of the host and there was no alternative contact to try and get the matter resolved. Even Booking.com couldn’t get hold of the host. We couldn’t shower or use the loo, or wash our hands, in the room at least we had bought enough bottled water for drinking. It was quite uncomfortable because we had gone to do some activities and to the waterfalls earlier. Returning to take a shower would have been a welcome relief in the humid climate.

The cottage was great, location is excellent and the view is spectacular. The place was clean and the communication with the owner was great. The lady looking after the place was very pleasant and accommodating. The gardens are well kept and the property is spacious. Besides the electricity situation we faced, the accommodation is great.

Unfortunately, we had no electricity for the better part of 2 days due to local power disruptions. This created all sorts of challenges, including the security gate not working properly and having to manually operate it at times, which was a challenge in the rain. Because of the electricity issue, we were also slightly uncomfortable about the security.

Location is amazing. Cottage is beautiful and quaint.

Ideal location for a retreat. I enjoyed a quiet and peaceful getaway, in a beautiful modern cottage with stunning views. The cottage was clean and neat, the staff & owners gives you sufficient space to stay isolated. Great Wi-fi connection with a Smart TV. Loved everything about it!! Definitely going to come back.

Bed wasn't very comfortable.

It was peaceful. A cosy little cottage just what I needed. So many birds and a few little buck passing through in the early evenings and mornings. Catherine (the lady on site) was amazing and so helpful with whatever assistance I needed.

It is a self catering cottage with a breath taking view far on mountains and lake/dam. The major road crossing the valley, c 1 km away, in front of the beautiful view, is however well in your years reach and sometimes too noisy. Most of the time however not disturbing. The sleeping room is on the other side of the cottage. The cottage is really offering everything needed, including a well working barbeque place in house. Nice small kitchen and well equipped. The gliding windows transforming the living room to a terrace is magnificent! Plenty to see in the vicinity, especially the excellent chees manufacturing farm in the Cheerio road is very recommendable, and the beautiful gardens and landscapes every where.

Disturbing are the table chairs and huge sofas that look good but are highly uncomfortable. The chairs would be good in a church but not at an eating table. The sitting positions is pressing your belly if you are not totally slim. The huge sofas are also not comfortable, so it is not really cosy to sit down.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable in a secure environment. The cottage has everything you need, including an internal fire/braai place! The garden and birdlife is magnificent :)

One can hear the cars in the busy R36 road in the valley below but I didn't find it invasive or at any time a noise nuisance. Proximity to the road is actually an advantage if en route.
