Agriturismo Baglio Calanchi

We stayed at Giancarlo's for four nights, and it felt like we were staying at a friend's place. He was very hospitable and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh bread, delicious ricotta, and filled cornettos that he would get from the bakery every morning (my favorite was the ricotta filled one). The house itself is beautiful as well, and in a good location to explore the Ragusa and Siracusa areas. Moreover, we had booked dinner for the first night of our stay there, and that was a feast. Home cooked Sicilian food with seasonal ingredients prepared by Giancarlo himself -- the kind of food that you're unlikely to find at any restaurant. All of it was paired with an excellent bottle of wine. My favorite dish was the ragu, but everything was great. If you stay there, make sure to ask to dine there once. Grazie mille Giancarlo.

Remote quiet location, nice owners, wonderful Sicilian breakfast. Room was large and parking easy!

Shower is too small especially for a + 6 foot guy. Hopefully this gets remedied. I could just squeeze into the shower doors! A small fridge would be nice as there was only breakfast on site. Dinner required going to one of two local restaurants/ bakeries requiring a drive of around 6 minutes . It would be nice to be able to put some meats and cheeses plus prepared dinner nibbles into a fridge and avoid driving at night to restaurants. (I note that owner was not asked to provide this and likely may have if asked. )

Charming place in a calm countryside. Owner very friendly and helpful. Spacious room. Everything clean. Very good breakfast. Good place to rest, close to beautiful cities.

Beautiful, authentic old manor house. The grounds were beautiful. The room was beautifully furnished, very clean and decorated authentically.

I wish there had been a TV in the room.

The place was great and the owner was amazing, super friendly. Breakfast was lovely and was served by the owner.

Lovely 1830 building which held Franciscan monks in early years, now beautifully restored by owner who grows olives and wheat on the land. We stayed in the spacious room on the main floor, we were very comfortable. Giancarlo was a great host who made a delicious breakfast and had lots of suggestions about area sites. We very much enjoyed the pool after a trip to Vendicari Reserve.
