Agriturismo Biologico Diacceroni

Out of my 10 day vacation in Italy, I have to say this has been the best experience, and the highlight of my kids as we learned to make pizza in Agriturimso Diacceroni. While the place was beautiful, close to towns like Volterra, it was the people that made this experience a once in a lifetime opportunity, and the culture of the people is reflected on legacy that is built upon this place and rich history. From the very start when we ate dinner, Ileana made us feel very special, we quickly connected with her and made us feel right at home. The next day she gave us the pizza cooking class and she poured her soul, teaching us about the intracacies of the dough, the fresh ingredients, the cooking process. During this trip we went to Rome, Venize, Florence and while we did good tours and spectacular scenary, it was Ileana’s pizza cooking class that was the true highlight of the vacation for my family (wife and kids) and through her, we were very grateful to getting to know the local culture.

Beautiful location, lots to do for my 7 year old, even in early spring. Our apartment was comfortable and well equipped. Reasonable proximity to places like Pisa and Siena for day trips. We enjoyed the pasta making class with Lucia and the horseback riding.

The onsite restaurant had a limited menu and my anaphylactic nut allergy was not taken seriously by our server, who was quite rude. It is a bit out of the way so be prepared to drive from groceries and any other form of entertainment.

The farm stay was rustic, the apartment was so Tuscan. Unfortunately the kettle had been used for heating milk and we took a while to realise why our drinks looked like curdled milk, it was hard to clean. The bed was so firm (hard) we had to put the sofa bed mattress on top to be able to sleep. Only two HUGEhard pillows, we got a slim one upon asking but… The unit was clean and roomy, only two complementary coffee pods for 4 nights stay and no jug to heat milk for coffee ( hence someone using the kettle). The family was lovely and the staff were terrific, would have loved to be there for the party nights! Great having the horses roaming around.

Pretty much everything - the view was stunning, the staff welcoming and accommodating, the activities offered were enjoyable for all ages and encouraged getting to know the fellow visitors, communication was proactive and it was a great value for the money.

There was very little to complain about during our stay. Any questions or requests we had were promptly addressed by the staff. As it was the off season (late October), some of the activities weren't available, but that was communicated in advance and the staff still offered a variety of options for families.

Very quite and very nice with the self service “bar” where you can select wine, soft drinks etc. Nice with good activities, which we unfortunately did not try due to weather.

We had an apartment, but it was very humid even though we har heating turned on. Our clothes always felt wet and it smelled very humid in the apartment - it would need much better insulation and change of air in the apartment. The road to there is very bumpy and could need small repair.
