Location and area

The house were very dirty and not cleaned, no water or electricty the following morning. Beds were dirty. House were very hot with only one small fan. Toilet not working the following morning.

The owner was very quick to respond to messages and helped ensure my technicians had access to WIFI when they arrived so they could work. I would recommend this accommodation!

The farm atmosphere

We were initially apprehensive about Karri Grove Cottages due to the long gravel road leading to the property, but as we drove down the winding path, generously dotted with cacti, succulents and animals, we felt an unspoken sense of freedom. The entrance gate was unassuming, and we had a fleeting moment of doubt, "Can this address be right?, Should we have chosen a different place?" But as we made our way to the house, greeted by a healthy heard of cows, the scenery transformed our skepticism, we felt a notable relief, shook off all our day to day stresses and embraced our new home for the next few nights. From the stoep of this house the rolling Karoo landscape stretched out before us and the dry fynbos filled the air with its distinctive medicinal-like scent. The sounds of birds and animals enveloped us, creating a sense of serenity and distance from the stresses of modern life. Quite the experience. The cottage itself was rustic, comfortable, spacious, and welcoming, and host Joe was equally warm and attentive. He efficiently set us up and tended to our needs without being intrusive. While there were some issues with hot water supply and the electricity going off at night due to the solar power, these minor inconveniences didn't detract from our overall experience. In fact, the cold showers were a welcome respite from the sweltering Karoo heat, and the darkness allowed us to marvel at the starry night sky. WiFi was available, but for this occasion, I would recommend ignoring it and embracing the digital detox – it's the perfect way to truly unwind. We also appreciated being able to bring our two dogs and enjoyed a game drive within the property. Overall, Karri Grove Cottages is a haven if your seeking a peaceful retreat from the world. If you're willing to trade modern conveniences for a chance to reconnect with nature, recoup and quiet your mind, I highly recommend this stay.
