Magical!! Peaceful!! Beautiful!! The hosts were exceptional, so kind and welcoming and genuine, lovely people. Comfy beds, fab location… I can’t sing it enough praises!! 100% you should stay here for the most fantastic madeiran stay!!! Kids loved paddling in the water, feeding the fish and ducks, and the breakfast was delicious

We had a beautiful stay at Moinho de Comandante - if you're looking for somewhere really special and memorable to stay, you won't regret booking Carlos' beautiful home. He has created a real oasis with a stunning garden, overlooking a beautiful river, nestled in a verdant valley. We watched ducks looking after their ducklings from our window, walked along the river and around the beautiful grounds, and thoroughly enjoyed the tasty breakfast prepared for us each morning. The house is cosy and charming and has all you could need. We used it as a base for many terrific hikes - it is near the popular lookout at Ribiero Frio, and it is easy to access alot of the other beautiful trials Madeira has to access.
