The restaurant at the main lodge is beautiful and was one of the highlights of our stay.

We booked Yorks View for a five-night stay but chose to depart after two nights, as the accommodation did not deliver the level of comfort or overall value we expected. We would like to sincerely thank Summerplace Game Reserve for refunding the three unused nights, which was appreciated and handled professionally. At a rate of just over R9,000 per night, the unit felt like poor value for money when compared to other self-catering lodges in a similar price range. From a value perspective, the following stood out: No daily cleaning or towel change service is included, with cleaning only available at an additional cost. Missing basic amenities such as a microwave and hairdryer, which are generally expected at this price level. No Wi-Fi at the unit. While this was clearly stated in the listing, at this nightly rate one would reasonably expect some form of connectivity or an alternative solution. Furnishings and outdoor furniture showed clear signs of wear and neglect, including burnt carpets, torn umbrellas, and damaged outdoor chairs. A strong unpleasant smell from an open drain near the swimming pool and hot tub area. Mould in the bathroom and dated shower curtains, which detracted from comfort and hygiene. The presence of resident cats in the accommodation, which may not suit all guests. On arrival, there was an instance where two adult guests were being very affectionate in the main pool area while children were present. We fully understand that the resort cannot be held responsible for the behaviour of individual guests; however, it was uncomfortable for us at the time and impacted our first impression. In summary, while the setting has potential and the refund was handled well, Yorks View does not currently justify its nightly rate. With improved maintenance, clearer inclusions, and better alignment between price and offering, the value for money could be significantly improved.

The place is so breathtaking, we had booked the hideout tent what a great time we had with my partner.we loved everything about the property. The food was great as well.

The game Drive was a letdown,despite the beautiful surroundings.

Everything except the bed was uncomfortable and also did not like the single beds joint together
