The location, the food, the surroundings

I really enjoyed the feeling of the place, the friendly staff - both D. Graça the manager and Sarita where very kind, helpful but never imposing, and the breakfast was amazing, fresh tasty bread and croissants, orange juice, fruit and yogurt, cereals etc. The setting is just lovely, literally on the river, and with a private path to access it (and you can even use a canoe to explore the nearby river!). This is definitely a place to go and forget about the rush of the world and simply relax and recharge your batteries. Will return for sure! The sightseeing around and in Belver is really good too.

The only thing that some might complain is that this is next to the river, but also next to the train track. I could not care less myself, I slept like a baby and never heard the (rare) trains going by.

Breakfast was great, the view from the room where it was served too and there were some common spaces that guests could use and gave us a sense of "home".

It has the train station nearby so you could reach the property and even go to the beach through some pedestrian walks but car is useful if you want to go to other villages.

The welcome and attention to detail at this wonderful historic building is outstanding. Run by a team who are kind and caring;focused on you having a relaxing stay this is a fantastic place to relax for a few days and enjoy the beauty of the river and the area.Wonderful breakfast too !

The river view is extraordinary, the train goes pass but not that regularly so was not a bother, rather an amusement. Perfect location near the station. You can even come from Lisbon by train. A car is advisable to explore the region, of course. There are 2 restaurants within walking distance and an esplanade for a late afternoon drink. The castle is cute and the drive around the mountains and small villages precious. There is a walkway on the other side of the river that takes you to a fluvial beach. Enchanting. Internet was good to work. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, fresh bread, croissants, tea and coffee and even scrambled eggs. The hosts very welcoming, all together made it a very pleasant stay indeed. Definitively recommended.

The only slight snag is that to go up to town it is all uphill (lol).

The house was authentic and the staff was amazing.. we traveled to Rome and Ireland and this was our favorite location. Beautiful country setting.
