Kandelaars Cottage

Beautifully refurbished old farm cottage and well equipped for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the loadshedding lamps, but loved the candles and personal touches! Home baked rusks, etc. to make it feel like home away from home. Thank you, and I wish we had planned to stay longer!

Beautiful Cottage. Bottle of wine and bread was appreciated, thank you! Big aircon for the warm summer days! Wood supplied and fire packed on arrival.

Strong sewage tank smell in main bedroom bathroom. Entire time of stay DSTV Decoder - No signal. Main bedroom light was not working. We stayed for 2 nights, from the second night we were without water (and this just before we went to an function the evening, was not able to shower!). Sunday morning still no water. I reported the water problem to Elmarie just after 8 Sunday morning. She indicated someone will come to have a look and that we can stay until the afternoon if we want to (which was kind of her, but not practical as we had to leave early to drive back home). Unfortunately the person who was suppose to come and fix the water issue did not pitch in time and we left without being able to shower. Not a very comfortable stay at all. Would have appreciated at least a refund for one of the nights considering all of the above.

Beautiful view of the sunset from the front porch! Everything was clean and comfortable in the house. We only stayed over one night but everyone in the family said they would have loved to stay an extra night!

The cottage is a bit secluded and isolated, so if you’re nervous about safety this might not be the place for you. However, if you like being in nature and not have people all around you, you’ll love it.

We loved this beautiful cottage in the country side. It is well equipped and very cosy. When last did we find a home baked bread and a bottle of wine on the kitchen table? Very spacious with a stoep in the front and the back. Will be back, thank you Elmarié.
