"OK stay"

6.0

The place was in tuscany in the middle of wine country. The rooms were nice and the place was clean and well maintained. The two ladies we met in the office were nice and very helpful. That is where it pretty much ends. The place is very much buy the book from only changing towels every 3 days to making sure YOU removed the trash before you leave. I inquired about the TV and if there were any english speaking stations and the owner responded that we were on Vacation and we didn't a TV.

"Wine tasting tour"

10.0

We visited Fattoria Di Pancole during our time in San Gimignano to do a wine tasting tour. Luca was a great host and really took his time explaining everything about the wines and process. The cost was €25 pp and absolutely worth every penny. Great place, great people, superb wine. Cheers!

"Good value: a delightful stay"

10.0

A quaint, warm, cosy five room apartment situated on a beautiful vineyard with wonderful views out every window. We had our own garden area and a large outdoor pool to use. Our hostess Sandra was warm and welcoming offering us a bottle of wine on arrival. Situated about 5 kms from the medieval walled village of San Gimignano... It was an easy drive or a great walk into the village, yet offered us an ideal retreat away from the crowds of tourists. Only regret... we didn't stay longer

"Nice Place, Unfriendly service"

6.0

My husband and I were there with one other couple. Even though the place is nice, rustic and very Tuscan the owner lady was unfriendly. We asked for breakfast and her response was well sometimes it is possible to get it depending on how many ppl want it and then we heard nothing about it, later she asked why we didn't come ( it was on the second floor and she never told us where the breakfast is nor did she confirm that we will get so we all thought it was a no - even so we looked around in the morning and saw no one and we never even knew there was a second floor available for guests, there was no signs either). They also basically kicked us out of our room on the checkout date, charged us $100 for towels, and made us wait in the drive way, no water, chairs or anything. Our car broke down and we had to figure out how to get home they couldn't care less and offered no help whatsoever. As far as customer service goes it was very bad (and we travel a lot). If you are wondering - we weren't "bad guests", we did not party or make a lot of noise or any such thing. Perhaps she just didn't like us but I still expected more professionalism. I am still giving it a three because the place is nice, quite and clean with beautiful views. It was just the service that ruined it.

"Neat accomodation with a view"

6.0

Very nice accommodation - the view from this fattoria into the surrounding valleys is splendid. A convenient 10 minute drive away from San Gimignano, the apartment we had rented offered a simple kitchen, a bedroom and a balcony - all very clean, albeit a tad out of date for my taste - this may however depend on the type of room you chose (we stayed in "Il Nibbio"). The balcony was great to just relax and sit in the sun - just what needed! The owner & management are very nice and the overall appearance of the premises (pool, greenery) is good. I would however not count on the playground if you have children that are planning to use it. The reason why I do not give 4 points but only 3 in the overall evaluation is due to poor sound-insulation from the apartment next door (appears to be a 4-person flat), which kept us awake quite a bit (even if our neighbors where just talking). I assume that this is due to the original construction of the house, but was obviously not considered when the place was refurbished for tourism.

"Under the Tuscan Sun"

10.0

Once we eventually found this place (make sure you have reliable GPS) it was worth the effort. You will need a car to get here and it is located about 3K out of San Gimignago. As a working winery, there is plenty of wine and olive oil on offer but what you are really here for is the view. The staff were more than helpful after we had to ring them twice to get directions and arriving much later than expected due to many wrong turns. We had a two bedroom room and it was enormous - 2 full sized bedrooms (1 queen, 2 singles in the other) an adequate bathroom with good water pressure and a full eat in kitchen area that had everything you might need to cook up a storm. Note that they are only able to provide meals to larger groups so make sure you have supplies before arrival. But what was really priceless was the next morning when we woke to a view out the windows of what looked pretty much like heaven. We were only here for a night but my tip would be to stay for at least 5 days as a base to explore all that Tuscany has to offer, rather than drive and stay in different places for a night here and there. San Gimignano itself is beautiful - a walled town not too overrun by tourists but get there early to get pictures devoid of strangers. Also, the best gelato in the world is made here (apparently)!

"Lovely farmhouse in stupendous Tuscan countryside"

10.0

Lovely farmhouse within a short drive from San Gimignano with stupendous views from windows overlooking Tuscan hills. Very helpful people - all my queries were resolved and they were very happy to help out with suggestions and tips. Parking is very easy. Slightly tricky to find but contact the owner for GPS location - when you are close it is clearly signposted. One thing that would have been better is availability of Wifi. Only wifi available was in the common areas which was basically on a bench outside the main office - not much use when it is cold and rainy!
