Tenuta Risalpiano

The owner, Valentina, her family and colleagues went out of their way to make our stay superb. The setting of the hotel was beautiful with a lovely terrace overlooking the countryside, our room was very nicely decorated and everyone was so friendly. They have gone to so much effort to only use locally grow food, beautifully prepared. We had a 5 star supper there, thank you Valentina!

The lovely service. Our breakfast were made with care. Dinners are just WOW! Atmosphere in hotel and the surrounding fields is perfect. The rooms are cleaned nicely everyday. Proximity from Florence is great.

Our bed was not comfortable. We slept very poor.

Definitely one of the few accommodations around Florence with the right price-performance ratio. We are generally very critical of room facilities & Italy is not really known for this. However, this accommodation is very convincing compared to other options. We didn't really use the pool or other facilities at the property. We traveled from Austria to Italy by car, so we had no problems getting to Florence - parked it at one of the center close garages (1.7€ per hour). Train station is quite close to the accommodation and could safe parking costs :) The accommodation is also very suitable for trips to the vineyards of Tuscany. Breakfast of course, was great too.

We visited Tenuta Risalpiano on the second weekend of October and the temperature in the room was quite cool already. Not really a problem for me, but more so for my girlfriend :)

Hard to find.

The staff was 20 out of 10. Amazing food, kindest hosts, AMAZING views at an amazing property with a great location. This hotel was truly the highlight of our trip to the Florence area. Our hosts could not have been more kind, great room, and the views are absolutely incredible as is the restaurant. We cannot wait to go back.

Peace and quiet; the scenery was to die for!!!! The pool was much needed! And staff were so beautiful

The mattress in our room was quite uncomfortable with notable springs…. Maybe just a mattress topper for more comfort?

I mean, the view is absolutely hands down, breathtakingly incredible, no view like it. Valentina and the staff were very friendly, inviting, kind, and helpful. The room and bathroom were spacious. The property was very charming.

Where we parked was gravel which was expected but we then had to roll our suitcases and walk through the heavy dusty gravel, which was very noisey and also I think could have been a small tar pitched or smooth surface pathway The stairs to go up in the rooms were a lot, with no elevator, and I have a bad back and bad knees, so that was challenging. Inside the room was very basic with basic furniture and the bathroom and room was quite outdated. I know they wanted to match the charm of the property, but I think they need to spend on revamping with fresh furniture. No AC, there was a ceiling fan which worked, and I was comfortable. The bed was very uncomfortable for me and my back. I literally could feel the springs on my back all night, and I didn't get much sleep. Pillows had no support. Baby was crying very early in the morning. I heard between 2am and 3am yelling, and so many doors slamming 😔 basically couldn't get to sleep. They have a pool that we were really looking forward to using but closed at 7 pm very early for a pool to close that we didn't have time after settling in. Staff and Valentina were very kind and helpful. The seating outside was fantastic, and like I said, the view was sensational. We decided to eat dinner there and we ordered steak for the main and ordered Medium and we got a medium rare which was bloody and we couldn't finish it because of that and we didn't want to offend Valentina so we didn't make a fuss. The next morning, I had stomach issues with cold sweat. I couldn't sit for breakfast as I wasn't feeling well. The breakfast I think should have had more selection there were too many cakes etc...no eggs etc bread was a little hard so I didn't take it. All I had was melon and Nutella and cappuccino, so I was a little disappointed with breakfast. The biggest thing was the wasps... couldn't eat peacefully because of all the flies and wasps hovering over and landing on the food.

Spectacular location and atmosphere. Our bedroom window looked out over the iconic Tuscan countryside; like a stunning painting. The entire property is world class. Very beautifully maintained and laid out. Valentina who owns the property with her parents, runs the restaurant and does a spectacular job. Meeting and spending time with her, was an additional highlight for us. She is fantastic! Bubbly, kind, and truly committed to creating the best possible experience for her guests. During breakfast we sat near a young family who had just arrived to spend a two week holiday at Tenuta Risalpiano. This was their second or third stay at the property. When Valentina first arrived, it was a like a beautiful family reunion. Lots of hugs and kisses, and they had brought gifts for Valentina. I would imagine what they have created at this agriturismo, is what many owners would hope for, but are unable to create as completely as Valentina has so successfully done. Brava! We will be back.
