Odysseus Palace

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted friendly. We were put in a studio room. The first impression of the hotel, which proudly calls itself Palace, is a very old and tired hotel. For breakfast, which is described in the booking as a full breakfast, we were offered a piece of bread, butter and jam. When we asked to replace breakfast with scrambled eggs, we were not refused. Thank you! Otherwise, the children would remain hungry.

The most interesting thing happened in the evening. The room had no soundproofing at all. The hotel is located on the road, which is not indicated in the description in Booking.com. In the evening there was communication in the room, as if we were on a street with heavy traffic. Which kept the whole family awake. A vacation where you want to relax and unwind is not possible in this hotel. On the third day, at night there was a power outage, which led to the breakdown of the air conditioner. And the air conditioner did not work all night and the next morning. In the morning I decided that we would move out of the hotel. I reported this to the owner and explained the reason. To which the owner said that he did not intend to lose money, and began to shout at me throughout the hotel! He was very irritated and angry! It just morally humiliated me! I do not recommend this hotel. Because the photo and description do not correspond to reality!

We liked the size of the room and location to the port of Poros.

Its location, big balcony and large apartment plus very friendly staff.

Can be quite noisy as was overlooking the main junction for passing and stopping vehicles.

The hotel is located close to the port of poros so if you are coming in via ferry boat from kyllini it’s easily accessible, it is even walkable. There is a beach nearby , basket ball and volleyball courts , restaurants cafes and super markets all in walking distance The staff was pleasant and personable and assisted us with getting transportation to other areas in kefalonia The hotel was clean and comfortable There were common areas that you could utilise such as the lobby or a large shared balcony on each floor

The decor is a bit outdated and some things need updating like the lock in our door which was sticking a bit but the owner tended to it immediately
