Das Steinhaus

The area, I came on a business trip and just needed a place to stay for two nights this was ideal and the breakfast was delicious as well

There was nothing that I didn't like

Very nice, typical German breakfast. Freshly home baked bread, cheese and yogurt that the owner's wife made herself. Lovely milk from the farm.

Everything was fine.

Scrambled egg could have done with more eggs to bacon ratio. More toast.

Our stay at Das Steinhaus was wonderful. The location is peaceful, the welcome warm, the beds comfortable and the water hot! The breakfast that we had was really lovely, and it was super to be able to spend time with our hosts and hear their story. Ilona & Claus have created an establishment totally off the grid, which means no microwave or kettle are in the room. It would have been nice to have had a flask of hot water for early morning coffee and tea. (but we had super coffee with our breakfast!)

There could have been 2 plates and knives and forks in the room, for our picnic lunch. However, Ilona gave us some from the house.

Being on a farm, the tranquility - away from the business of the city - I loved being able to take walks in the mornings. Close enough to Napier and surrounding towns to explore. The hosts was lovely and it was interesting to learn about the fynbos. Breakfast was tasty. Had a nice relaxing time.

Location, location, location! Hosts were caring and considerate.

I enjoyed the quietness and serenity of the farm. It was just what I needed. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I would go again
