Snug & Secluded Lakeside Shepherds Hut 'Carp'

Very peaceful and secluded. The hut was really comfortable and had everything needed. Balcony was lovely to watch the wildlife and the lake.

Would go for an en suite next time but nothing we didn't like.

The hosts were lovely, and the room was great.

Everything you needed in peaceful location. The starter pack of milk , teabags was really welcome.

This place is heaven. I have been in the UK for over 14 years, but this was the first time I truly witnessed the raw beauty of nature. I am not exaggerating when I say that it felt like a perfect escape from the world. The ponds, clay, birds, and even the storm—it all seemed perfectly orchestrated to bring me here. The serene silence and the joy of feeding ducks and goldfish were exactly what I needed.i sat and just looked at them for hours You don't need to be a fisherman to appreciate this place; you only need a deep love for animals and a sense of awe for the symbiosis unfolding before your eyes. The incredible variety of birds, the tranquil environment, the delicious homemade meat, and the care for every detail were beyond anything I had ever experienced. The cows and horses were so happy there. Not all deserve to see this beauty. I thank my friends who flew around to say goodbye and see you later. The owners are remarkable, and their dedication to preserving nature and caring for the fish is truly inspiring. Thank you all; as someone who has seen much of the world, I can confidently say this was the most extraordinary experience. My God, I miss you all already. I felt happy and safe, and my skin has healed. I will undoubtedly be coming back if it will be possible .

It would be more convenient to have a sink, but hardly a major discomfort

The accommodation & facilities were excellent. The location was nice & quiet. Very welcoming & helpful. The huts are very well equipped. We had our dogs too, they haven't been fishing with us before, it was the perfect location to introduce them to it. I've been to a few locations fishing with my husband & I have to say I was very impressed with the private shower for our personal use. Nice touch.

Fantastic location ducks visited every morning and evening. Host are fantastic and knowledgeable about local area.

The location is beautiful, our hosts Geraldine and Mark were so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and when we were shown to our shepherds hut, ‘Carp’, we were absolutely enchanted! Everything was just as described in the property description. The hut was beautifully decorated and had all the finishing touches and thoughtfully provided items that you would ever need. It honestly could not have been better. We were feeding the carp, goldfish, ducks, Canadian geese and Moorhens right from our seats on the terrace. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I had the best three nights sleep ever, and our welcome pack was full of goodies. We have found our new bolt hole and will return again and again!
