Snug & Secluded Lakeside Shepherds Hut 'Carp'

We had a lovely stay, beautiful grounds and peaceful. Geraldine and Mark so friendly, felt like we were old friends. Mark was always on hand for anything if needed.

This place is paradise, from the warm and friendly greeting, the hot rolls and croissants gifted to us for breakfast to the rich pond life, ducks, moorhens, the odd heron or two, and of course the fish which are visible from our vantage point on the deck. We loved our surrounds and the hut itself was wonderful, the bed so very comfortable.

There wasn't anything we disliked.

We loved how quiet, peaceful and secluded this lovely location was- perfect for recharging away from it all. We had the ideal “baby moon”, just us two and our dog- who had, if anything, too much fun! Everything was comfortable and perfect. We really appreciated the personal touches from owners Geraldine and Mark. We will definitely be back!

Stayed in Shepherds Hut overlooking lake with gorgeous views! Very cute hut with everything you need. Owners were very helpful and friendly. We are house hunting in the area and may stay again as very convenient with our smalls dogs. Very pretty site and surround countryside. Would recommend!

Me and my Husband escaped to the Snug and Secluded huts for a long weekend to celebrating our first wedding anniversary. We were looking for somewhere you could "switch" off and sit back and this gave us exactly that. The only time we wanted to use our phones was to either take pictures of the wonderful scenery or to catalogue the many, many species of fish we caught, as a way to show our friends and family who are definitely interested in visiting themselves now. Geraldine and Mark made sure to welcome us on arrival and show us to the cabin, this included complimentary warm rolls and croissants offered to us either as we arrived or if we preferred we could have had them in the morning. We were hungry after our travels and chose to have them straight away which Mark had no issue at all with. After storing all our belongings in the cabin, my Husband went to set up his fishing gear next to the lake, which was around 10 feet away, the cabin had a lovely balcony that over looked this lake, this was a perfect place to eat dinner or just sit and have a coffee in the morning watching as nature begins it's new day. There was everything you could need and more in the cabin, complimentary board games, DVDs, books, everything you could need to prepare, cook, and eat a meal, including a BBQ Grill. There was so much to do and even the rainy weather didn't deter us from fishing to our hearts content, exploring the countryside and all the animals that Geraldine and Mark have on the farm, even, going for a horse riding lesson at a riding school down the road, helpfully recommended by Geraldine upon booking. Thank you Mark, Geraldine and Trish, for sharing your corner of tranquility with us, you have made customers for life and we intend to visit AT LEAST every anniversary.

That we had to go home. My husband wouldn't let me keep a goldfish. We don't live closer.
