Porto Katapola Pension

This is one of the nicest rooms I have stayed at in many years travelling to Greece. The rooms and balconies are very tastfully decorated in a modern colour mix and well equipped with coffee making facilities. Extremely nice and helpful owner and staff.

Great location! Easy walk to the port and many restaurants for breakfasts and dinners. Bakery literally steps away too. Giannis recommended a restaurant in the traditional mountain village of Lagada for lunch. Ate there one day, great food, idyllic location in the village, really nice lady. Giannis recommended two restaurants in southern Amorgos for lunch. Ate at one the day I explored southern Amorgos. Wonderful family run place where literally everything on the menu is homegrown. Giannis is a peach of a guy always ready to help.

Nice and quiet location just at the side of the Katapoli town center and on walking distance from the nearby town of Xilokeratidi (make sure to visit the Moon bar and meet the local people). Different beautiful hiking trails start near the accommodation. Our host Giannis was really very friendly and forthcoming.

If you visit early May (as we did) please keep in mind that the busses are not yet running so you will most certainly need a taxi (or hire a car or scooter) if you want to explore the island. Later during the season the bus stop is just next door from the accommodation

Glannis my host really looked after his guests. He was available to answer questions and share Amorgos and Greece with you. Rooms comfortable with beautiful views from the balconies. Location at the port so convenient and plenty of restaurants and supermarkets open. I stayed here last year and l had to return. A perfect place to stay in.

Best place to stay in Amorgos, and it was really our best experience out of 12 days and 6 hotels in 5 greek islands. Giannis is the best host we've ever had. He felt us at home as soon as he welcomed us off the ferry. He helped us a lot, like a best friend, in time of big crisis where we lost our bag. He was very responsive through booking, easy and welcoming communication, gave amazing tips about the island through stay. The room with sea view was fantastic, the view of the port and the sea was a true joy. We miss already Giannis and Amorgos, and definitelly we’ll be back.

Giannis is just the best, very welcoming and friendly! Our room had a lovely view over the garden, with a nice balcony to enjoy our breakfast. The room was spacious with a nice, comfortable bed and very clean. We liked the small kitchen area with all you need to make a simple breakfast. The bathroom is small but very clean as well with lovely towels. We will definitely stay here again.

Giannis must be one of the nicest hosts around! Really appreciated his kindness in everything and his advice on what to do in Katapola. The room itself was lovely, well appointed and spotlessly clean... just across the road from the harbour so great views from the balcony. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Giannis!
