Coron Backpacker Guesthouse

The staff keep the place very clean. The rooms are what you pay for, the fan worked fine and felt aircon wasnt needed. The value is amazing for the area and feels like a proper back packer hostel. The price is the best thing

location, clean, kitchen

it’s on sewage, paper walls so you hear everything… but if you bring earplugs it’s fine.

Good location close to shops, restaurants, town centre and port. shared kitchen is well equipped, common area is nice with lots of space to sit, eat and chat with fellow travellers. free coffee and drinking water available 24/7, staff are very friendly and helpful. Entrance is through an alleyway off the main street, not so easy to find at first.

No hot water in the showers where there are also a lot of mosquitoes. Walls are so thin that you can hear everything happening in the common area. Every now and then there is a power outage in areas of Coron Town, without a working fan the rooms in the hostel get super-hot very quickly (bear in mind without electricity also no running water during the outage) Quite a few insects and sometimes cockroaches around but that is quite common in this area. Wi-Fi was pretty slow. Cleaning of bathrooms and rooms could be improved.

Arranged an airport transfer through the guesthouse, booked by them based on our flight time - it was 45 minutes late and then took another 30 minutes to pick up various people from other locations which resulted in a very stressful sprint to check in luckily they held the check in desk open for us but very nearly missed our flight

The homey feel, the host made us feel so welcome and worked so hard to accommodate all our needs. Felt like a truly authentic Filipino experience!
