Mancora Apartments

The location is good. You get a private room for the price of a dorm.

The hostel might have a bright past, but nowadays it is a very run-down place with no atmosphere, people nor staff – staying alone in this big place is a rather spooky experience. The restaurant is closed. The passage from the hostel to the beach is closed – I mean physically, with thick nailed barriers. The toilets are not cleaned. There is no kitchenette in the room. No fans nor mosquito nets in the room. The wifi didn't work once during my five-day-stay. The fairly good rating on Booking remains a mystery to me.

The location is great! It's right on the beach, very convenient for a quick swim at any time. The staff are always available and super helpful, and their pancakes & coffee were honestly 10/10. It's the perfect place to relax and reset.

- spaceious, fancy room - for a family vac it's a nice spot - citchen - beautiful beachview - nice, quiet beach - around are some other hostels with food, also party

- the restaurant/café was not open - lack of cleaniness (had 3 cockroach, asked for a clean, but they forgot it/the fridge smelled after not to be used for a long time) - you can walk 15-20 min to the center, at night I wouldn't recommend it. Mototaxis charge 5 soles; Grocerystore is not nearby the Hostel - there were no other guests; the first days seemed a little bit abondand as the owner wasn't there. Stuff not very professional.

Very nice appartents! The owner was very friendly and we were able to check-in much earlier and check-out later without additional costs.

The view from every corner of our apartment was amazing. We had a big kitchen and our own big balcony. Right next to the Hotel were a bunch of nice bars/restaurants.

The staff person was barely around and could almost never answer any questions about the surrounding area. We had our laundry washed at the hotel and the guy gave it back while it was still super damp, so we had to hang it ourselves one more time. Plus some shirts had holes in them. I feel like it just had to do with this one member of staff though.

The perfect place to stay in Mancora. Julia is the perfect host and always willing to help out with everything. Amazing cook, nice to talk too and really helpful with every situation you come to her with. Plus right next to the beach!

Nice hostel with really friendly staff. Also a brilliant location right on the beachfront.

Unfortunately when I visited the place was almost empty and there was no chef, so there wasn’t any atmosphere. I can’t recommend it for solo travellers who want to meet other people.

We loved our appartment with terrace! It was like a home, far away from home. We planned to stay 3 nights, but we extended with 2 nights since we could fully relax here! Make our own breakfast and lunch (in the fully equipped kitchen), eat with sea view, fall asleep with the sounds of the waves, relax in the sun, cuddle with the cats 🥰 Communication was quick via app or in person with Fernando, who's really friendly!

It's a bit far from the centre, but that's also why it's nice and quiet. Most of the time there are tuk tuks outside that can bring you.
