We booked 2 nights, the first night we stayed at an army base which was actually a fun and unusual experience that didn't bother us at all. For the second night we moved into his homestay which was newly renovated. Mr.cong and his family are very friendly and have a small restaurant/bar on the beach. We ended up eating there twice because the food (seafood bbq) was amazing! We rented a scooter from him to explore and figured out his restaurant is the best on the island. If you want a local experience then this is the place. His prices are very fair and we never had any problems.

The Man family contacted us in advance to organize the ferry crossing. That was very helpful. They then also organized the transport from the port to their accommodation by moto. It is important to know here: There are no cars on the island, so if you have such large pieces of luggage as we do - it can be an interesting ride with the motos. My enthusiasm on the outward journey was limited (about 20 minutes from the port). The room was small, very basic and clean. Breakfast was 2 fried eggs, some veggies and coffee - very good and you eat it on the promenade and watch the ocean while eating. We liked the lonely beach we found and the island is very beautiful in other ways. Above all, it is very quiet there, at least most of the time. If you need more action, you are better off in the main town directly at the harbour. The accommodation is a bit far from the beaten track.

Personally, I simply lacked a few pieces of information that would have been very pleasant in advance. Unfortunately, there was hardly any storage space. And there was hardly any space where you could have hung wet things to dry. For a longer stay, the accommodation would not be suitable for us, but for the 3 nights it was okay. To be honest, we didn't feel very welcome at the property and I can't say exactly why. It was not only the topic of communication, because the family hardly speaks English. But we found a restaurant where we felt a little more comfortable. With the owner's father we paddled to another lonely beach. That was a great experience.
