Serene Villa Hiriketiya

The people who work there are so nice and friendly ! I arrived early and I they worked to get it ready for me ahead of schedule ! Ishan the Transport Manager was so helpful when I needed a back up plan for my trip back to Colombo to catch my flight. Everyone here is so nice ! The apartment had its own little courtyard which was all really private . The apartment was so cool and an oasis to return to after being out in the heat of the day . The buffet was plentiful, tasty and varied. I loved the coffee too esp the Flat Whites - thank you ! Location wise I found it perfect for both beaches as it is positioned close to the top of the hill on the road between the 2 beaches . I also really enjoyed yoga classes held at Serene - the most amazing views too ! I would definitely recommend staying here and I would love to come back again

There are men sitting around doing nothing all day on their phones and it is very uncomfortable The pool is tiny, about two people can stand in it and that’s it They charge 3k for laundry and don’t even iron or fold the clothes The electricity went out several times and once in the night and we couldn’t get to anyone for an hour until we finally found a number somewhere The single bed in family room is literally a sheet on a slab of concrete The bathroom was not very clean and the whole place floods when you shower, waterfall shower doesn’t work Not worth the price at all

Perfectly located up the hill from the main beach, we enjoy a relaxing 3 nights staying here. The design and vibe were excellent - our room had lots of space, was super comfortable and quiet. It felt like staying deep in the jungle but only a short walk from the main beach area of Hiri - which has lots of places to eat, drink and surf!

We liked everything about the property and location however breakfast was a little bit basic - though plenty to get you started for the day.

We stayed two nights at the serene. Great location short walk down the hill to the beach. Lots of options of cafes/restaurants in This area. We stayed on the top floor which gave us a beautiful view of hiriketiya beach. There was a lot Of steps to the top, however staff assisted with luggage which were very grateful for. Room was large, spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly and accomodating

Beautiful view from the balcony. Very good, local breakfast. Great location, 2 minutes from the main beach with great surfing.

The room was poorly maintained. Housekeeping didn't show up once, and we had to keep asking for it. The room wasn't clean enough upon check-in either. The toilet flush didn't work properly, and despite requests to have it fixed, it stayed that way throughout our stay, which was very uncomfortable. There was also a plant in the room that leaked water onto the floor and was infested with ants. The hotel promised surfboards, but they were a huge disappointment – poorly maintained, only hardtops, and missing leashes. We didn't use them, even though we wanted to. The overall place is okay, but the price and quality ratio is unfortunately disproportionate.
