Villa Làrio Lake Como

This hotel is stunning - very private very modern. Rooms & views were beautiful.

We didn’t love the food to be honest, didn’t think there was enough options on the menu and very expensive for what’s available. Breakfast for 2 adults 2 children was $200 euro and was so basic. We also didn’t love having a dog in the restaurant at dinner with another patron.

Very nice location, quiet getaway, very nice food and everyone was very kind. Just one small thing to consider, service at the restaurant and especially at the pool might get somehow slow...

The dock. Looked nice until they left it wet all day everyday. Then my girlfriend and I slipped and broke our arms. The hotel laughed.

Villa Lario is undeniably beautiful. The setting on Lake Como is stunning, and the interiors, rooms, and overall design have been carefully curated. It is the kind of place that looks fantastic in photos and is perfectly suited for Instagram

Unfortunately, the hospitality falls well short of expectations. For a hotel of this calibre, especially given its extremely isolated location, one would expect a genuine commitment to guest experience. Instead, the impression is that the staff limit themselves to the basic functions of running a hotel: making the beds, cleaning the rooms, and serving in the restaurant. The hotel is far removed from everything, yet offers no practical transportation alternatives or meaningful assistance in helping guests navigate the area. Equally disappointing is the lack of activities for those staying on the property. Simple experiences such as kayaking, boat excursions, or other lake-related activities could significantly enhance the stay, but none are offered. The recommendations and advice provided by the team were also of little value, often amounting to referrals to private third-party services over which the hotel has no control and for which they take no responsibility. There also appears to be a shortage of staff, which may explain some of these shortcomings, but does not excuse them. Another surprising omission is the complete absence of televisions in the rooms. While some guests may appreciate the minimalist concept, this should be made clear, as many travellers would reasonably expect such a basic amenity in a hotel of this category. Finally, the gym is virtually non-existent and falls far below what one would expect from a property positioned at this price point.

The view was breathtaking. The food was delicious. The staff was very attentive and kind. It made traveling with our 11 month old baby very easy and comforting.

The WiFi wasn’t as strong so it was a little difficult to get work done on the terrace, but that could also be a blessing in disguise. You’ve traveled to such a beautiful place that you should be enjoying the scenery, not your computer.
