Valley of Nuns Holiday Apartments

The location of the property is perfect, near the grocery shop and bar, very short distance to bus stop. Flat is very spacious, very tidy with beautiful view to the mountains. Well equipped kitchen compartment and big bathroom. Our Host was very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this place! We definitely visit this place again!

Nothing to complain about

Great directions from the owners. Very central, and was nice to have a shower and comfy bed to break up our trans island hiking/camping trip. Glad it had a kitchen as all the local restaurants were closed in the evening! Fortunately the local grocery store was open til 8pm

Not a fault with the accommodation but be aware local restaurants may not be open for dinner!

Accommodation was right in the middle of the village with easy access to restaurants and walks.

The apartment was extremely comfortable, much bigger than I expected. The views are out of this world, and there is a large balcony to enjoy them. The location of the apartment is very well situated amongst some shops and restaurants - perfect to soak up the local atmosphere. You’re also very well located to get to other parts of the island, you can be in the heart of Funchal in 20 minutes. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the bed is extremely comfortable and you have everything you need in one place. There are plenty of utensils, cooking instruments etc in the kitchen if you want to stay in and enjoy the apartment, including a large fridge freezer! As the apartment is in a valley I had trepidations of the drive down into the valley but the drive is actually extremely easy and the roads are very well done (on most of the island in fact). It’s very modern and I felt right at home. Communication with the host was effortless, check in was seamless and I would 110% stay here again!

The apartment was just amazing. Amazing location, equipment, views. The owner was super friendly and helpful. Gave us good tips of where to go. It is a few steps from the local shop, restaurants and bus stop. For the coffee enthusiasts there was a coffee machine with capsules as well! We fell in love with the bedroom as from there were spectacular views and it itself was cosy. There is also a washing machine which came in handy.

Despite our satisfaction and enthusiasm with our stay, there is a thing I can't leave out. When we arrived, there was 11 degrees in the apartment! It was horibly cold. However, there are two heaters so we managed to heat the bedroom. So I definitely reccomend to take warm clothes when visiting in winter or ask the owner if they could pre heat at least the bedroom.
