Aequor Luxury Rooms & Apartments

The apartment was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. It was exactly like the photos. Every room had its own A/C. It had a big balcony, a washing machine, and many useful electrical appliances. The location was really nice, because it's 10 minutes away from the city center and it is quiet at night. It's also 5 minutes away from Xrysi Akti beach. We had a beautiful stay.

The whole apartment had only 1 mirror in the bathroom. We are a group of four girl friends, and only one small mirror wasn't enough. Also, there is a parking lot next to the reception, but it doesn't have enough parking spots for every apartment, and you may need to park elsewhere. In addition, there is no elevator available.

The room was very clean and cozy. Having jacuzzi inside was great.

I think the lokalization is not ideal for people who want to rest in peaceful location.

The location is great, a few minutes away from the beach. There's also shops and some good restaurants near the hotel. And not to forget that there are enough bus stops near the place, from where you can catch a public transport to the city of Chania. The beds were quite comfortable and the room was large enough with a big terrace. It has good quality furnishing, which was in good condition. The staff was kind and helpful.

We were kind of mislead by the images on the listing, showing a kitchen as part of the apartment. It turned out to be shared one. Also I've asked in advance if there's iron and Nespresso coffee machine in our room, the first one stated in the amenities section and the coffee machine being shown on the images. The owner confirmed that, but when we checked-in the room, there were none of these. Hopefully after my complaint, they bring in the coffee machine the next morning. I was unpleasantly surprised that our bed linen was not changed for a whole week. Also I've noticed that sometimes the towels were just folded rather than changed with clean ones. The breakfast, which we paid for, was the same each morning, with the difference that it decreased in quantity and on the last day we received a breakfast that would not have been enough for one person, let alone a whole family. So overall it wasn't worth paying for it.

Location

The double room smelled extremely of smoke, although a non-smoking room was booked. When pointed out, the lady at reception was very stubborn and refused and behaved very unprofessionally. It was mentioned several times that it is not possible to stay in this room as a non-smoker. She acted as if the smell was normal and clean? Instead, she wanted to offer a larger room for an additional charge. She didn't want to refer us to the manager either. I have never experienced anything like this anywhere else. Such unprofessional behavior and in the end you had no choice but to pay 30€ extra for the room, which smelled normal (non-smoking room) or to leave!

Large terrace and nice bathroom

There is a lot of dust. Floor, furnitures etc - we visited before high season and it looks like apartment will be not ready to season.

I visited some friends who live nearby so this was the only good place to stay for a resonable price. The bed was comfy and it was generally a large hotel room. It's about 2min walking distance to the store and 3 minutes walking distance to the beach. There is a bus stop also right by the store that will take you into Chania city. The aparment also have some nice views of the snowy mountains.

I staied in room 104 and you get a balcony but it's kind of small when it comes to sitting down. And at the end of the balcony which face towards the road you can look into your neighbours room. I think they should completly close up the seperation wall so you get some privacy.

We had a nice room, it was clean and comfortable. The terrace had a table, chairs, and a patio umbrella, it was pleasant to have breakfast there in the morning. We arrived late at night when the reception was closed, but they proactively contacted us via WhatsApp beforehand and were checking how are we all the time (we traveled from Heraklion late at night by bus), so we were able to get to the room with no issues, huge thanks for this! Upon checking we were also given beach towels and an umbrella that we could use for free during our stay. There are a few coffee shops with an enormous variety of sweets within walking distance, as well as the amazing Sterna Authentic Greek Cuisine restaurant. It is 5 minutes walk to the Golden Beach, and 10-ish to other well-maintained beaches. It is around 15 minutes bus travel to Chania city center, there are 2 busses and they don't necessarily follow the schedule. We stayed for 5 nights, and had da perfect time!

The breakfast delivery varied from the agreed time so we never knew if we should go to the beach before or after and ended up spending a ridiculous amount of time (ours and the delivery person’s) trying to get the breakfast and us at the same time at the same place. Even though the breakfast was fine, having the same stuff for 5 days bored the hell out of us, so we ended up wasting a lot of food.

The suite itself was really nice and clean.

When we arrived, there was no one at the reception. Luckily we saw the housekeeper. Unfortunately she did not speak much English but she then called the receptionist, who told her to clean our room and let us in. So if the housekeeper wouldn't have been there, we probably wouldn't have gotten in. Later when we would have wanted to order breakfast, the receptionists answered with 6 hour delay. We had a booking for 2 nights and did not see anyone at the reception during that time. It keeps getting worse. In the evening something creepy happened. Someone opened the door when we were inside the suite. We started yelling and they closed the door. My first impression was that they must be hum@n tr@ffickers and I got freaked out. My boyfriend then started to talk with them and we realized, that there were no bad intentions, just poor customer service and a language barrier. We found out that they were another couple and the father of the receptionist. Unfortunately the father did not speak a word of English so it was really hard to figure out what is going on. I guess there had been a double booking.

breakfast offer vs price it is poor and the portions are small. you get the same things every day per person: 1 butter (just 1 small pack) 2 jam (why more jam than butter…?) 2 crispbread 2 toast bread 2 nutella 1 egg 2 slices of ham 2 slices of cheese corn cereal and milk 2 mini croissants 1 slice of cake cherry tomatoes fruit (mellon and grapes) orange juice coffee (tasted really weird in my opinion) In short, I regret paying extra for this breakfast instead of using the money on different restaurants for some cooked options as well. or at least 2 packs of Lurpak :)
