Kato Zakros Palace Apartments

First of all, communication with the owner was smooth. The owner was a very friendly gentleman, who gave us great pointers on local activities and dinner options. The room was very clean and well-equipped, with the comfy beds being noteworthy. There is free private parking behind each apartment, making moving your luggage hassle-free. Finally, the view is A-MA-ZING. From our apartment terrace, we had a gorgeous view on both the Gorge of the Dead, the Minoan Palace, and Kato Zakros Beach all in one! Simply stunning.

The only minor thing was the WiFi that was either non functional or had too weak of a signal. We couldn't detect the network from our room (room 8).

Kato Zakros is a unique place and staying in the KZ Palace Apartments made it a wonderful experience. George has put so much love into the apartments the garden and the views are superb. The apartments are comfortable and equipped enough for breakfast but bring your own supplies as there are no supermarkets in KZ. There are several tavernas along the beach and the swimming is safe, although the beach is stony so bring some swimming shoes. This was my second time staying here and hopefully I will return.

Quite the modern palace looking down at the ancient Minoan one. The view from the large terrace is spectacular. Very nicely furnished studio apartment. And home-baked cake as an extra treat. Very pretty and well-maintained gardens.

The WiFi only worked on the terrace for me, and it was a stormy and chilly day. The wind truly howling - I bet otherwise normally it's a very quiet place.

Great location, amazing views, hospitable hosts

We loved the position overlooking the bay and the entrance to the Gorge of the Dead. The patio out front is large and private. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the views.

It's a little crammed for space, particularly around the bed and in the bathroom. The kitchen hobs didn't really work.

George is the best host ever. The place has stunning view. Can reach the seaside on foot. So much peace there. Best place to relax. I booked once for a few days, then came back for more days later on. Cannot recommend enough. Will come back for sure.

Second time visiting Kato Zakros; what a wonderful place. George was a fantastic host as before and everything was perfect. Great walking in the area and wonderful beaches all around the coast, both on the doorstep and within a short drive. Great views from the apartment and super tavernas/hospitality in the village. Thank you again.
