Kamon Inn Toji Higashi

Super convenient location with its proximity to Kyoto station. The shared kitchen area was also very helpful for when we brought meals/snacks back. Beds were pretty comfortable, and it was not particularly noisy.

The dryer was not super strong, so we ended up air-drying our clothes instead. We got a 3-person room, but in practice, the extra bed gives you very little space to move around. Would very much recommend if you're travelling as a couple, however.

Very clean! great location, close to Toji Temple. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots/pans and all kinds plates and cutlery. We even bought some food from the supermarket and cooked it in the shared kitchen.

Great communication (including photos) from host, explaining requirements for self check-in and how to get to accommodation. Very clean, with fridge & kettle in room and shared kitchen (for three separate rooms) with facilities for cooking just outside the room door made it feel so much more comfortable. Nice hot shower. 7 min walk to Aeon Mall with large supermarket. Easy enough (flat) 1.1km walk to Kyoto Station on a sunny day.

1.1km from Kyoto Station - taxi cost ¥1,200 (was raining). Google maps had us on wrong street, but fortunately host had sent a photo of entrance around the corner (on street with overpass). Very thin walls, with other people arriving late waking us up. Seemed to be no hot water in shared kitchen to wash dishes, although (given you are asked to leave them on drying tray) appears host may take them away for a deeper clean.

First of all, the host is great and very caring. His/her English is really good 👍 it makes so much easy to communicate. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood and 12 minutes by feet to Kyoto station. The bus stop is 3 minutes away.
