Spacious apartment in the nice part of Funchal close to the sea. Very nuce welcome staff, restaurants neaeby

Unfortunately it has been extremly noisy due to constraction works 10meters from our balcony on the street

Very good location, loved everything in it, big terrace, lovely staff and great place. They let us leave our luggage in the reception while we were waiting for our flight! Great time and dreamy island! Obrigado!

Location is very good, walkable distance from main destinations. Near are several parking (paid) areas. Groceries stores, restaurant.

It was really hot at nights and there was no fan. Fan would have helped a lot.

The location was good and everything was clean.

The beds were old so you could feel the springs of the beds. There was no hair dryer, however we did not contact the management to ask if they could bring us one so it was maybe partly our fault. The hot water in the shower was not enough, after a short while we ran out of it. However the worst part was the restaurant downstairs. It was impossible to ventilate the room because the restaurant downstairs was blowing the deep fried fish smell right to the balcony. Not having clean air untill late at night is like a joke, especially considering the fact that Madeira is like a paradise in the middle of the ocean!

The beds were very uncomfortable, the glass of the shower was not cleaned properly and the ceiling should have been fixed

Great location Very welcoming staff Large terrace with view (I was given the penthouse - top floor - apartment) I was there fir New Year’s Eve and it was great to be able to walk back to apartment (30 mins) without having to fight for a taxi or a car park :)

Can get noisy but that’s inevitable when you are in town

The location is great. The bus stop is right near the property. There are a few restaurants nearby (one is in the same building). There are a couple of tourist tour providers' offices in the building next door. A long and beautiful promenade along the seacoast ending in Camara de Lobos has its start in 5 minutes on foot from the apartment. Two supermarkets are within a few minutes walk with a great variety of goods. The city center is easily reachable by local buses. If you wish to walk to the city center, it'll take you around half an hour depending on your speed. The apartment was clean and cozy. The kitchen had everything I needed as a budget traveler mostly cooking myself. The beds were comfy. The host was nice. A private checkout is extremely convenient if you need to leave late at night or early in the morning.

My main complaint is the hot water in the shower. To be precise, the shortage of it. When I was taking the shower the first time, the water turned cold when I was covered in a lather. All the next shower sessions were as fast as I could achieve to make sure I would finish when it only started getting cooler. Fortunately, I was alone. If I had come with my wife (which we had planned initially), no way that amount of hot water would have been enough for us. Other complaints are less substantial, but they are still worth noting: lack of sockets near the bed (so you're not able to charge your gadget while using it in bed); the lock on the building door (not the room one) is tricky to open, which I hadn't been warned about, so I spent a while trying to open it myself the first time late in the evening. If you're a light sleeper, the noise of the air conditioning units around may interfere with your sleep (as you would probably sleep with windows open as the room itself has no air conditioning).
