"perfect! this is what hostels are meant to be :)"

10.0

AMAZING hostel! I’ve traveled 58 countries and countless hostels, but the owner (who is so helpful and hard-working that he could easily be running a massive luxury hotel) , staff, and vibe here are absolutely golden. They helped me in so many ways and do anything it takes to make you feel at home. I recommend staying in the West Bank, and this place is it!

zero complaints!

"A peaceful place to enjoy"

9.0

I like the entire idea of a Peace and freedom hostel and that was exactly was it was, so peaceful with the freedom feeling. I had booked a single room, but got one with two separate beds. By the kind of placement of the beds, the room felt really spacious. There was a door to the little garden and good lights for the dark. The room was clean. The bathroom surprised me a lot. So big and comfortable. The shower combined with a nice looking bathtube kept the floor dry. There was a space for a washing machine as well. I think it will be great, once it is installed. Even the bathroom was clean. The garden was the living room. The owner seems to be a fan of Bob Marley, though the walls of the garden are nicely decorated in Jamaican colours. There are a few trees in the garden and in the evening one can enjoy the sunset from the so far unfinished rooftop. Breakfast is also served in the garden. I few birds sing for you. One can order lunch and dinner for an extra charge. I didn't try it, though I don't know how it works. Anyway, everyone should appreciate this service, because there is no restaurant and no (super)market close to.

I would have liked to have the opportunity to choose breakfast. How about a list, what the hostel can offer for breakfast? This list could be ticked in the evening before and a line or two would be great about allergies of the guest and similar. That doesn't cost a lot of money, in the contrary it would save some and even avoid rests of food, that means it is environment friendly. Fortunately I am traveling with my own towel, but I would anyway have prefered to find one from the hostel in my room, which helps me, that I don't need to care about my wet towel, when going further. Wi-Fi is a big wish of mine, but I can understand that it isn't so easy at the countryside.

"Exceptional"

10.0

The host Mr. Hapi is extremely helpful - he would pick me up each time from West Bank ferry to the hotel and always there to address every need of mine, gave me tips about navigating the area, arranged taxi at reasonable prices. He really went the extra mile to make me feel at home. The hotel is located in the quiet and peaceful west bank and the rear garden is a great place to enjoy breakfast and chat with other travellers. Highly recommended!

Water in the bathroom can be stronger but it’s worth for the money!

Peace and Freedom hostel is a beautiful place on the West Bank of Luxor, a good option to take a break from the noise and lights of the East Bank. In the hostel you find a pleasant atmosphere with very friendly and hospitable hosts. Really, they have chosen a very suitable name! 😊 It's about 5 minutes by taxi from the public ferry and if you like to walk, it's a 20-minute more or less rural trail, which is good for getting out of the city a little bit. In addition, it has a variety of offers to sit down for a drink or eat something next to the Nile. The hostel has a beautiful well-kept garden with different options to enjoy the outdoors. The breakfast is abundant and the whole place is very clean. But above all, it is a place where you can see that a lot of love has been put into it. Thanks for so much kindness, friends! I had a very nice time. I wish you the best... 🌈🌱🙏🏼

"Very good"

8.0

Very friendly staff, owner offered to pick me up for free from the ferry station. I got a cold during my stay and owner offered to help, take me to hospital, get me medicine, cook and prepare hot drinks for me, all this was very much appreciated. Breakfast is varied and very tasty.

There is no WiFi and the hostel is a bit out of the way, 30' walk to the ferry station, restaurants, etc. It's fine if you can walk it, or you can get an inexpensive taxi.

"very disappointing considering the high rating."

comfy bed.

It’s location was not great. the toilets weren’t that clean either. The host was not helpful whatsoever and made it seem like the only option was to use him and his friend for a drive around at a really steep price. I said I wanted to rent a bike and he said there’s no option yet there was one a bit of a walk into town. he also asked for the payment in US dollars and when I was paying in Egyptian pounds, he just came up with a really high conversion rate. when I called him out on it he made something up. he seemed like he just wanted to squeeze money out of his guests. I had 2 nights booked but was so upset that I just stayed the 1 night and he didn’t really care.
