"A peaceful, welcoming stay by the Nile with great hospitality and easygoing charm."

10.0

We had a wonderful stay at Malindy KA Guesthouse, located in the beautiful Nubian Village right by the Nile. The setting was peaceful, with stunning river views. Mohamed, the host, was incredibly welcoming, greeting us warmly even though we arrived late at night. He prepared packed breakfasts for our early 4:00 a.m. tour and arranged a taxi for us without any hassle. The facilities were excellent — clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. The whole village had a warmhearted, friendly atmosphere that made our experience even more special. I highly recommend staying here for a true taste of Nubian hospitality.

The only minor downside was the bumpy road leading to the guesthouse, but even that wasn’t a real issue. There were tuk-tuks available everywhere, making it easy and convenient to get around.

Wonderful atmosphere in a typic Nubian house. The owner was lovely and attentive. Good egyptian buffet breakfast, also suitable for vegetarian/vegan.

The route to arrive to the location is a little bit bumpy. The room was small, luckly there were 3 beds and we used one for the luggages, otherwise there would have been no space for the luggages.

"A Nubian experience"

10.0

Mohammed and the staff are absolutely the best! They’re easy to find and always ready to help with any questions or needs you may have. Breakfast, prepared carefully by Mohammed, is always delicious—though it’s more than enough for one person! The laundry service is fast, very clean, and super affordable. The room and bed are comfortable, and the overall design has a charming Nubian style. The shower and heater both work well, and the water pressure is amazing—which is something I really appreciate. The amenities are basic, but they do the job and actually exceed expectations considering the price. Yes, this place is a bit “far” from the center, but that’s exactly why I chose it. It’s located in a local Nubian village, and from the moment you step outside the hostel, you get to experience authentic local life. If you’re okay with traveling 20–30 minutes to the West Bank for your tours, and returning in the evening via a rougher road to enjoy a quieter, more peaceful atmosphere, then this is the place for you. I even walked along the Nile at night to the market and nearby restaurants—about 15 minutes—and I never once felt unsafe. The village kids are happy and playful, and the community is warm, helpful, and tightly knit. It’s clear that everyone looks out for one another, which makes you feel welcome and secure.

"The best accommodation experience we had in Egypt!"

10.0

Our stay at Malind KA was simply unforgettable! Located at the top of a Nubian community, on the opposite bank from downtown Aswan, the hotel offers an authentic and culturally rich experience. The view of the Nile is breathtaking, and access is available both by land and river. The staff is extremely friendly, hospitable, and always ready to help — without a doubt, the best hospitality we experienced on our entire trip! The breakfast is excellent, featuring traditional halal dishes, making every morning a special experience. The hotel’s architecture and vibrant colors are a highlight in themselves, reflecting the essence of Nubian culture in every detail. Moreover, the hotel follows the concept of community-based tourism: members of the local community prepare the meals, take care of the hotel, and offer additional services such as transportation and local handicrafts. The community’s souk, easily accessible from the hotel, is the best we found in all of Egypt — a true gem for those looking for authentic, handmade pieces. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enriching experience!

The only downside, if it can be considered one, is the distance from downtown Aswan, which can make access a bit more challenging. Transportation costs and travel time to the central train station or the city center can be higher compared to other locations. However, the calm and peaceful atmosphere at night — unlike many places in Egypt — more than makes up for it.
