Cinnamon House

Great relaxing place, the location is perfect just a 5min walk to the main street in Mindo, so its convenient but also quiet and calm. Not a party hostel. Space to chill on hammocks to watch the hummingbirds at the feeders. The dorm beds were comfortable with privacy curtains and lockers in the room

The WiFi didn't reach the 10 person dorm unfortunately, but it was strong in the common area. Could probably do with an extra shower and toilet or two

The common areas looked good and inviting, the house itself is in the suburbs so it was quiet at night. They have a brochure explaining the activities in the surrounding and the schedule for the public transport. The volunteers working there provided a good customer service and spoke English well. Approx 10 min walk to the centre, and approx 15 min walk to the bus station.

Though I only stayed 1 night, I noticed that when asking them questions regarding the brochure with the activities and transport they didn’t seem to know much, not even some basic stuff, which I found uncomfortable. Also, the toilets and shower are very close to the common areas (as everything is quite small), meaning if anyone goes to the toilet for #2, the rest of the guests will hear the “symphony” which I found uncomfortable to deal with as well.

Nice location, a bit away from the town and surrounded by nature, shared spaces were comfortable.

The mattress in our double room was very hard. The bins in the toilets were overflowing during the day and there was no drinking water left at the end of the day.

It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed at.

Very nice tree house type hostel, out of town but not too far. Everything was very damp but to be expected in the cloud forest.

Sheets felt very wet

We really loved our stay at the Cinnamon House! The setting is beautiful. It's close to town, but feels as if you're in the jungle. The courtyard is set up super cool and cozy and a great spot to meet amazing travelers from around the world. The staff is really friendly and Isabella is a Superstar! Also, the coffee is Epic! All the best!
