Beautiful house with spotless rooms and communal areas. Spectacular views from the rooftop terrace and only a short walk down to Tarifa. Peter is a fantastic host and made me feel very welcome.

A beautiful apartment in an exquisite location.

A unique place to stay, with stunning sea views. A variety of accommodation available to book in the house. We stayed in a large double room with large bathroom. We had use of the shared kitchen & had a designated shelf in the fridge & cupboard for our supplies. There is a washing machine available if needed. Matthias, the host was very welcoming & provided photos & written directions on how to get the floating house. These were very much needed as it is not that easy to locate! There is parking available at the house but be aware it is a challenging drive to reach via a very bumpy rough track. There is a coastal footpath to take you from the house straight into Tarifa. Stunning views on the 10/15 mins walk but again be aware the path is steep & very uneven in places. (Not suitable if mobility is an issue.) During our 3 night stay we took a whale watching boat trip & day trip to Tangier……both great & worth doing.

Be aware the drive to the property is a challenge but it is set in the middle of nature so needs to be expected & worth it once you arrive!

The room was not a studio and you certainly would be challenged to eat in the space which was like a cell...the bed was a mattress and though it did not bother me I can see it being a challenge to ascend the stairs as has been said in the reviews (but no one will read this anyhow from the management?) The noise and the utilitarian attitude from one of the other guests when I introduced myself that 'they come all the time and that is that' kind set the scene for me on day one of a 48hr stay. That evidently sets a social precedence that makes you feel uncomfortable. I also had to tell people in a non diplomatic way to shut top as the inside of the house acts like an amphitheatre with the acoustics of the stone floor and the tiles accentuating it...again entitled people and like Lord of the Flies no one to orchestrates the ideal that others are staying and they should respect the process-NOPE NOT HAPPENING...it is then left to people to do what they wish to do...no, it is a hostel and not a hotel.It is good with great views but it is not the best I have stayed in and that it falls short of by a country mile. The access track was ok but again needs some demarcation to highlight the fact.Most people couldn't find themselves these days if they are not using Maps or Google Maps and the idea they have to navigate a tough track is beyond them....it needs better management of signage however that happens is anyone guess...the gate was locked in the morning which facilitated the need of me to walk back and get keys that then needed to be returned before I left...really? Perhaps being a little worldly travelled I see it different from the German owners. Would I stay again....NO

The views from the House are exceptional - the communal areas were large and comfortable.

I stayed 7 weeks in a "Studio" . .My booking receipt listed it as " one single room" . .no written instructions / warnings that there was ladder climbing involved to get to the bed area, which was tiny , with a very low ceiling (too low to stand upright for person of average height.) and tiny interior window. The bed was basically almost a mattress on the floor - very low and difficult to get up from - there are no safety barriers nor railings preventing someone simply tripping /slipping and falling through the hatch opening (large) and dropping 3 meters onto a stone floor.- VERY POOR. The House seems to be run for the convenience of the Staff - no showers allowed before 9 am (disturbs staff) - no hot water for shower, as staff had shower first, or forgot to turn heating on - too bad - "have a cold one " I was advised !! . - incidentally, it is a German run house , and most guests are German - often little English spoken . - needless to say , I did not enjoy my 7 weeks much and will not return !!
