The Pinfold

Perfect spot, central to everything, shops castle and restaurants, cosy and charming.

We liked everything.

We only stayed for one night but would be happy to stay at The Pinfold for longer, especially as the room had a sofa and easy chair for when not in bed. The bed/ pillows were very comfortable. The room is clean, nicely dressed, and has attractive original architectural features. The host was helpful with our questions regarding parking and places to eat. Skipton itself is a welcoming place to stay. Whilst there, we enjoyed a pleasant evening in the Cock and Bottle (it was quiz night), an excellent breakfast at The Curious Fox, a very good afternoon tea and relaxing canal cruise on board Dalesman, a visit to Skipton Castle and the parish church of Holy Trinity. Everywhere we went, the staff were really friendly. Everything was within easy walking distance, even though I do have a problem with my hips, and I'm not very fit. We were also lucky to be blessed with lovely weather.

Nothing major. The food in the Cock and Bottle was disappointing, but the staff and other punters were really friendly. Whilst we were waiting to go aboard the canal boat, a man shouted aggressively at an elderly disabled lady who had been told it was OK to board. It was rude and unnecessary, and not a great start to the trip. However, the onboard staff were perfectly lovely.

The location and welcome by the host were brilliant. It was so close to Skipton high street, the castle and its woods, the canals and eateries..

It wasn't really a problem but the public parking was a little away. Our room was up some stone outside stairs, again no problem for us and added to the atmosphere.

Lovely quirky room in a great location, very clean and comfortable

Property was lovely, room was nice and clean, but quite small. Was located right next to church and town clock, that chimed every 15 minutes. This got quite irritating during the night.

Decent location for exploring Skipton.

Sadly found the room very dirty, which may have been unlucky as the other reviews say it’s fine. There was used tissues on the floor by the back of the bed, lots of people’s hair on the floor like it wasn’t vacuumed, we didn’t want to take our socks off. Hair in the bathroom all around the toilet, a used wash cloth/tea towel on the floor by the bed. Smoke alarm has been removed and not replaced. Bedside table extremely unsteady and needs fixing or replacing. This is the first ever time I’ve left a booking.com review yet we do a one night stay every week on our days off, this is the first place that I’ve felt needs some desperate TLC to even be worth the £90 - all we expected at this price point was clean and basic, but it failed on clean sadly.
