Boston Lodge

The room was a good size and clean enough, with a decent view out of the window. Cheap enough for the overnight stop we needed.

It was going ok until we settled. The cups provided still had tea stains in the bottom, so had to wash them myself. There was a soap dispenser but it was empty. Lucky we had our own. There was a large chip in the wall next to the bed. There was no shampoo, only hair conditioner in tiny bottles. Although the single bed was comfy for my son, the double bed was solid and very uncomfortable for us both. The worst part was I was woken up by a combination of loud laughter, TV, music and talking at half past midnight and it didn't stop until 3:30 AM, which sounded like it was coming from under us. When we left, the owner asked how it was and I told him it was very noisy until 3:30 AM. Rather than apologise, he merely said, "That must have been other guests, it wasn't us." I didn't accuse him, just said it was noisy but the fact he instantly blamed other guests and says it wasn't them says a lot to be honest. I would not stay there again; which is a shame as the room size and cleanliness was decent.

rural location but with convenient access to Boston.

if approaching from Boston the signage, was from the main road, not obvious. Perhaps adjusting the wording in the " welcome" email to describe the position of the property in more detail might help.
