Great value for money accommodation. Short drive from Stromness and Kirkwall, and major sites. Whilst there was no view, as such, from within the accommodation, outside did offer views.

Not the best if you are looking to do more than simple cooking.

The room was spacious and clean with a very comfy bed. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and equipment and had all the mods and cons for coffee and home comforts while away. The surrounding area is stunning with a beautiful garden space and access to sea views.

Very comfortable bed. Very quiet location. Friendly attitude to electric cars.

Only one saucepan

The accommodation was snug, clean and well equipped . The shower was great and so warm in the shower room thanks to the heated towel rail.The bed was incredibly comfortable - slept really well. Big thank you to the owner for the little treats- they were very welcome after a long journey. Loads of touristy info which we found useful.

Rather disappointed that the 'Sea view' was only really visible from the garden. 'Main view' while eating inside was the rear garden bank.

This is an ideal location for Orkney. It is centrally located, though out of the way in a quiet and beautiful spot that was not so out of the way that it took much time to 'run home'. All the amenities were provided, including some quality basic foods to get you started. We went on a private tour of the magnificent Cathedral in the main town and found that the chairs in the property were two that were auctioned off when they replaced the congregations chairs (no pews in this Cathedral) - We thought that was very cool! If I decide to come back to Orkney and want a self-catering, I'll try to book this one first.

The hot water in the kitchen was a trickle. Found out that it was by design because the water pressure had surprised and perhaps scaled folk in the past. Not a real problem.

We liked the rural location, good comfy bed & good shower.

There was no oven to cook proper meals (not everything is microwaveable). We didn't realise this; fair enough an oven wasn't listed in the description, but for a self catering unit offering longer stays a small counter top oven should be provided (we had to bin a pizza we bought)

photos don’t represent current situation nor does write up ie drink cup of tea looking at sea or garden - can’t be done from inside, comfy chairs not found view cannot be seen from inside accommodation - lack of view disappointing - need to sit outside and all that could be found was two grimey plastic chairs noise could be heard from next door clearly sofa ok for one but not two dvd collection smaller but ok needs comfy sofa/chairs or just dining table and chairs

Views from the garden. Stunning vistas over the bay to other islands. Cleanliness, showerroom, location. Easy to cycle to sites all over the island or go for local walks straight from the door.

None of the promised welcome items were there apart from tea and coffee. The kitchenette was poorly equipped and it was difficult to make a proper meal. There were no comfortable chairs available and no garden table. The heating stopped coming on in the evenings (but we did not try to contact the owners about this).
