The host was very motivated and the breakfast was very good. Also the rooms were super clean.

We were given accommodation in 3rd floor ..Since there was no lift, it was tiring to bring luggage up and down. Secondly, the rooms we were given were small compared to other rooms, and Bathroom was separate. Host was very Nice but it was not meeting my expectations of comfort

Good location from which to explore Edinburgh -- short bus ride or 30-min walk. Room had everything needed and bathroom appeared newly renovated. Host was friendly and helpful.

Unhappy surprise to be charged 5% extra to pay with a card (informed a few days beforehand, but still...). Our ground floor room backed up to the breakfast area so from 8:30 could hear guests next door.

Khuan is a very engaged, friendly and well informed host. He was welcoming us with all Information, that we were looking for. Also great is his breakfast and the interiordesign of his guest house. Everything is very clean and well maintenened. The location is in a silent side street, with a bus stop 2 minutes walk and 15 minutes ride to the city center, perfect for us.

The place was neat and clean and the location was ok. About 10min by bus and good bus connections or 30-40min by walk. The area is quiet and peaceful and there were no sounds from other rooms. The fruit and muesli for breakfast were tasty, although some of the food comes from a can.

I would like to point out at the beginning that I am in the customer service industry and have also worked as a trainer, so I am sensitive to certain things. The host was pleasant on the surface, but the friendliness is very artificial. When we arrived, we were given a walkthrough on how to use public transportation. We said that we had already familiarized ourselves with it and came by bus and we had a couple of questions. The host just said that I'm getting there. So we had to listen to the whole learned litany and the host didn't hear us when we told him that we already knew. We were on time so we just left our bags in the hallway and the host advised us to call the door phone when we got back and he could tell us where he had hidden our room key. When we got back and waited in the hallway after calling him, I noticed a box that said "key". I opened it and our key was there. I don't quite understand why this couldn't have been told right away in the morning, that you would find your key clearly marked and not in a locked box 🙄 Many have praised the breakfast, but I don't know why. I don't know if we Scandinavians just have higher expectations, but the breakfast didn't meet and was really tasteless and the food was dry. Breakfast had to be chosen the day before and I ordered eggs and smoked salmon. It was cold-smoked vacuum-packed salmon, which I can't eat when I'm pregnant. I said I couldn't eat it because I was pregnant and the host replied, "What do you want me to do?" He couldn't have known I was pregnant. I explained the difference between smoked and cold-smoked and pointed out that the label should say it was cold-smoked. I asked if I could have another portion and I did, but the situation left me with a really bad feeling. In these types of places, the hosts are often genuinely friendly, asking when you meet them in the morning how the night went and after breakfast if the food was tasty.

Good place to stay, bus stop near the house. Breakfast very good. The host is very helpful. We really enjoy our stay.
