"Total immersion in French heritage, history and architecture."

10.0

Our hosts were charming, helpful and welcoming. The accommodation exceeded our wildest expectations insomuch that the architecture was outstanding and one really felt privileged to experience the history and heritage of the site. We felt a shared sense of appreciation for old buildings with our hosts, and the need to preserve them for future generations. We were a family party of eleven with ages ranging from 14 to 80 and were unanimous in our delight.

The fact that we did not book for longer.

"Très bel endroit"

9.0

"It was a charming and lovely. The woman that runs the chateau really made it exceptional."

Very nice and filling.

It was hard to find a place to eat dinner. It was a Sunday night, so this added to the issue.

"A Unique Experience"

9.0

Lone parent with 2 girls travelling through France during half term. This was an un-researched stop over so I was half expecting a busy hotel with a restaurant. This is a lovingly restored castle, unique in every way, in a beautiful setting offering a bed & breakfast experience. Charles & Sophie are wonderful hosts. Our medieval room (at the top of Rapunzel’s tower!) with four poster beds was amazing. We will remember this forever :)

More restaurants in the village. We arrived during a French holiday so many places were closed.

"Spectacular Chateau and Accomodations"

10.0

The Chateau is one of the most magnificent places I have ever stayed. The view of the chateau from the castle is spectacular. The spacious rooms are fantastic with original furnishings, and one of the most comfortable beds ever! The grounds are incredible with the Orangery, the pavilion and formal gardens. I will definitely return and highly recommend this Château to anyone traveling to the southern Loire Valley.

"We will never forget our stay at St Loup"

10.0

First sight of the chateau gave us goosebumps! It was jaw dropping! Unique, fairy tale.

Nothing! I suppose if you weren’t fit or if disabled, then the steps would have been impossible but any alteration would have spoilt the history of it.

"You owe it to yourself once in a while!!!"

10.0

As they say, oh my goodness! When do we get to stay in such an historic building in such real comfort? Well I did and I will always be grateful to Sophie and Charles-Henri for that. I arrived a little tired having cycled from Brissac-Quince but was genuinely lifted just looking at the place. Sophie welcomed me and sorted out my bike and then to a superb room in 15th century keep to the original fortifications. Sometimes space is important and my room and bathroom were as big as the ground floor of my home! Lovely soak both evening and morning to smooth my aches. There is a lot of interest in the grounds and, together with the attractive village, lots of photo ops whilst bimbling about. Slept like a lord in a real four-poster (pull the curtains to kill the light). Lovely breakfast (best yoghurt I have ever had in an earthenware jar - forgot to ask where from!) and, just as I was about to set off, Charles-Henri asks if I would like to view the Louis XIII chateau itself (their season just starting) and what a pleasure to have insight as to the history, restoration and upkeep from the current custodian (ie together with Sophie) as to that. Yes it costs a bit but as to value 100% and it’s a place and experience you will never forget. Merci beaucoup Sophie et Charles-Henri

It was all fab
