Parking wasn't good our car was damaged by location to building work we never entered the actual b&b we stayed in converted garage it was clean but bit tired around the edges b&b is looking worse for wear at the back wich was our view from window ,were the cars parked doors banging was a nuisance ,owner was very pleasant but bit scruffy

Lovely spacious clean room, quiet location, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast with the best scrambled egg in UK, very handy location for getting into town, generous host who picked me up from the station and offered to take me back at the end of the stay.

a wall mounted shampoo and shower lotion dispenser would have been handy

From booking to arriving the communication was excellent. I was greeted by a lovely young lady on arrival. Shortly after showing me the beautiful room Andrew the host arrived to introduce himself. I had made it known to Andrew during earlier correspondence I was needing accommodation here because my Son had become very sick and was on life support at the nearby hospital. Andrew and his lovely assistant have been such a support to me during my stay. They truly have been my guardian angels and I'll no amount of Thank yous' will ever be enough. The breakfasts are amazing with the most delicious sausages. Served in a quaint dining room. When I next visit my son and his family in Darlington in happier times I will be visiting this remarkable guest house with my husband. If anyone reading this is wanting outstanding accommodation with the kindest most caring host please look no further. They make you feel like one of the family.

My daughter's stay at the Balmoral guest house was nothing short of perfection. I booked a room for my young (adult) daughter, who was attending a job interview at the nearby hospital, so she could have a "homebase" whilst interviewing. The manager of the guesthouse called me before her arrival to ask if we needed any special assistance and was extremely assuring and helpful. The guesthouse sits in a lovely street, lots of trees, and easily accessible from the train station. The building itself is gorgeous and very well maintained and clean. Room was incredibly comfortable too. Staff was not only polite but very welcoming and helpful throughout my daughter's stay - she was a bit nervous and they were all very kind and reassuring to her. Breakfast was heavenly. Overall, a perfect stay.
