Sunnyside Guest House

The owners were friendly and welcoming, helpful with advice on local transport. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, there was a kettle for making hot drinks and a television. The bathroom had everything I needed; soap, body cream. a shower cap and gel with shampoo and conditioner. It was lovely to have a sitting room upstairs where I could relax, try some of the homemade cake. There was a good variety of things to eat for breakfast which was delicious. It was lovely to get to know some of the people staying there.

There was nothing to dislike about my stay.

Lovely breakfast and plenty of choice. Fresh milk available not uht and lots of add on’s eg. Little butter dishes, orange juice pots . Toiletries supplied. Separate lounge with tea, coffee, cake and an honesty box if you wanted a drink e.g. wine, beer, spirits.

Everything was great. Nothing to dislike.

Sunnyside was very comfortable, clean and had everything I needed..a great selection of toiletries/shower/body products, make up cloth, shower cap and even slippers and a robe..which I appreciated alot as a solo traveller and hiker. I was even able to borrow a trekking pole. Breakfast was delicious and had really great options. And I enjoyed a local beer from the honesty bar as a treat! When I arrived I was first greeted by one of their 2 cats, which I was very happy about, and the owners are really friendly and helpful 😊

The bedroom doors can be quite loud when people push/pull them closed. I only found this an issue though when people get back to their rooms late though.

The breakfasts were amazing! So much to choose from & cooked perfectly by Paul & served by Nicky The evening meal I had was delicious & as a solo traveller a bonus rather than wander around looking for somewhere you think you could walk into. Having parking spaces over the front of the property is a definite bonus & being able to park prior to check in if there is a space & leave car for an hour or so after check out.

There was nothing I didn’t like about my stay except it would have been great to be able to stay longer than the week I booked.

Great central location but far enough away to be quiet. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional and the hosts were absolutely lovely! We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Hosts were wonderful nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast and evening meals were superb. Little extra touches in Sunnyside also made the stay special. Requested a pack up for our long journey home again superb Location close to town centre. Definitely be back..
