The Chantry

Zimmer im Privathaus. Das Frühstück wurde auf dem Zimmer serviert, aber komplett nach unseren Wünschen. Die Gastgeber versuchen Alles möglich zu machen und sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Großes Zimmer und Badezimmer mit Stuck, man kann sich hier nur wohlfühlen.

The age and history, beautiful property, original features, friendly host

Lovely large 1800's house the the owner has restored with skill and taste and rents out rooms to travellers. Comfy bed, spotless linen, tea and coffee in rooms, and a TV. Good strong shower with shower gel provided and ample towels. It was a hot day and the owner had thoughtfully aired the rooms with the windows open all day to keep them cool so we had a comfortable night. We were on our motorbikes doing the the TET (Trans European Trail) a Europe wide green-laning tour. This part which covers the south west is called the James Higgs Trail. This place is ideal if you need a good shower, good food and beer, and a decent nights sleep. Has a gated yard at the rear which was great for the motorbikes. A short walk great quality chippy (The Blue Chip - fish and chips were top quality) and a pizza/kebab place next door. We went to a fab pub called the Ancient Ancestor, with a really good range of beers and friendly staff and salubrious clientele. There were a couple of other pubs and restaurants about but we have simple needs.

Nothing, was a really good stay.

bedroom was clean and good value , nice bathroom .

no car park, had to go up 300 metres to park car, also very steep stairs to get to bedroom and even steeper stairs to go to the fridge and microwave. Also can i make a point was never offered breakfast , could have made more income if we had been offered it !!!!!

The host was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast arrived as promised. My husband had a full English, I had yoghurt and berries - both very nice.

Bed was a bit firm and we could have done with another blanket in the cupboard as the weather was not great and we were a little cold on the Saturday night.

Very welcoming accommodation. Room was simple, clean and just what we were looking for.

Location was ideal.

We had a beautiful room, lovely and cosy, with all you need. Really good value. Very friendly host too.

There was a little road noise.
