I was working night shifts and I had a message to confirm my arrival at 9:36pm that I couldn’t reply to as in work, they then messaged at 10:35am saying someone wanted my booking and then had another message saying they cancelled my booking!! as I was then asleep from my night shift!! I booked this stay for my mam and dad for my dads birthday they had left the country as they was on there way and then was gonna phone me when they was about 2hrs away so I could message them so I could still get some sleep I then had to phone them and tell them to turn around as it had been cancelled. Will never ever attempt to stay here again if a booking is confirmed it should never be cancelled!!! Definitely wouldn’t recommend!!

Excellent service, we've done alot of hotels in and around the south and the chantry is the number 1 hotel the best of the best, lyndsey has made our holiday the best stay we've had

"The host was lovely and very kind. The rooms are big but basic, the property is noisy."

The host was lovely greeted us and said goodbye. Very friendly

Unfortunately there was a very strong smell of mildew in the common areas of the building. Cleaning supplies, hoover etc was left out in the corridor for the entirety of our stay.

Really spacious room and bathroom.

We wish the bathroom was en suite. The property seemed more on the older side in comparison to other hotels/ airbnb at this price point but not a huge dealbreaker.

Very welcoming host. Very nice breakfast. Lovely building with character interior. Only a very short walk to the towns shops and restaurants. Free car parking was reasonably close. Room was large with everything we needed as was the bathroom. Bed was comfy.

The Chantry is a beautiful guest house. Our room was very clean and well furnished with comfy beds. A ketttle with tea, coffee, sugar, cups and glasses provided and a small fridge for milk. The private bathroom was amazing, the decoration, free standing bath and large shower were immaculately clean. The lovely welcome was kindly appreciated when we had been in traffic for hours. We will definitely be booking to stay again.
