The Stables at The George Of Wilby

Two separate entrances to rooms and free car park.

Nothing major a little DIY on the window but it didn’t ruin my view.

Location. Quiet area.

No ventilation on what was the hottest weekend of the year at the time. No windows to open. Bed was too firm pillows lumpy.

Toilet stuk, geen wc papier. Schimmel in de badcel.

I was visiting Santa Pod Raceway as an official. The accommodation is a short fourteen minute drive from the venue. The Stables is in a quiet location with plenty of car parking.

To improve the room (3) the owners will have to improve the ventilation in the room as there were no opening windows. The mattress on the bed is worn out and offered no support. I had to clean the black mould from around the bottom of the shower doors and the shower tray. When I booked the room, I saw that breakfast was not available, but no mention that the pub also does not do food in the evenings. This results in a drive to the nearest restaurant some two miles away towards Wellingborough. Car park was untidy and unkept. First impressions count.

The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly

The room had a window but was unable to open it as it was broken on the outside. The cleanliness of the room was not upto standard. The shower was full of mould.

The room was dirty, carpet was stained, the bathroom was dirty and lacked toiletries, not even soap to wash your hands after going to the loo. The curtain was hanging off, I ended up, climbing up and pinning the curtain up to at least five some privacy. I refused to make a brew, would you drink out of those cups?
